Only if Pacquaio showed up to the fight two rounds late .

Was that fight ever in serious discussion? I guess it would have seemed reasonable before Diaz met Campbell.

Don't know how serious the talks were or if there was ever any official talks rather then just scuttlebutt because before the Campbell fight Diaz was a hot ticket to match up with anyone from 130-140lbs...

I am not sure Paulie beats Hatton in a rematch, but the Paulie in the fight with Hatton was not the same Paulie from the cotto fight or after ditching McGirt. I think Paulie does much better in a rematch, if he wins or not I don't know, but I do guarantee it won't be as one sided as the first encounter

There is no way paulie beats Hatton. A fighter should at least have decent power to crack Hatton's chin. Depleted punch resistance and all Hatton beats Paulie all the time. Hatton is very good in cutting off the ring unlike Diaz. For a professional boxer Paulie hits like a woman.

Hatton is there to be hit and can be outboxed. I am not saying Paulie would flat out win, but I would expect it to be a lot more competitive this go around.

    Yes.

But Hatton will have Zero respect for him because paulie lacks power. If hatton can just go inside without worrying about getting hurt then sooner than later he'll hurt paulie. I just cant see how paulie can outbox Hatton. Hatton has quick legs and is good in cutting off the ring. We already have the 1st fight as proof. It could be more competitive but it could also turned out the same as the 1st fight.

I had Diaz winning the first fight 7-5 but Paullie won this one for sure. Diaz should stay at 135, . He's stilll young and should take a easy fight. A rubber match in the future would be good. Right now, Paullie would still lose to hatton but not as bad. Hatton is around 180 lbs lol, he'll never be as good anymore. He'll never fight Paullie .why would he? One more fight and he'll retire

Good for the arrogant prick winning the fight, he deserved it. One thing that is certain about Malignaggi, he may not have power in his fists, still he's a slick fighter that makes his opponent work hard. Not the best, but right up there.
Still enjoy watching his post fight tirade from the first fight.

The thing people saying about Malignaggi now is that he doesn't have the power to stop someone from plowing through him. Well it's only happened twice. And even Cotto didn't plow through him. Hatton did but that wasn't the same Malignaggi. I think we can all agree that McGirt was the wrong guy for the wrong style, since leaving McGirt he has been the guy who fought Cotto and everything else. A fight with Hatton wouldn't be as one sided as the first. I think Malignaggi could win that one too. Especially given the way he's looked lately and the way Hatton's looked lately. Malignaggi still wants Cotto too, you got to give him credit, he always wants to fight someone who beats him, usually when fighters lose or almost lose they want nothing to do with the other fighter. For a guy who has to rely only on his boxing skill, with no power, he deserves credit. I think he beats Hatton in a rematch. But my moneys on Hatton getting Khan at the MEN arena

I disagree with him beating Hatton in a rematch. All that's happened since their fight last year is Hatton was gung-ho against Pacquiao. Nothing to do with anything other than the fact that Hatton has never been able to deal with guys who throw combinations/guys who have a lot of speed and guys who fight southpaw. Pacquiao is all 3. For all we know Diaz' style could be perfct for Paulie or Diaz could have been ruined by the Marquez fight. I'm not saying Paulie hasn't improved or Hatton has declined, but i don't believe it's happened to a degree where i'd give Paulie a chance of beating Hatton.

Hatton beat Paulie because he closed the distance much quicker than Paulie had expected. Paulie even admitted this after the fight. Once Hatton was 'on' him Paulie had no answer. I don't see this changing if they were to fight again, and the first fight was so one-sided that a) - there won't be a rematch and b) - even if it did happen and Paulie won, people would only talk about Hatton being finished. Not the fact that Paulie may have improved.

I think Paulie would do better in a rematch, but by that I mean he might win a few rounds. There is not much point in talking about it though, because the first fight was so one-sided a rematch will never happen.

Well, I'm a big Juan Diaz fan and I hated that I knew Malignaggi was going to beat him. I dislike Paulie, but I knew he got robbed. I don't think Juan was off his game, I think any slick fighter is going to give Juan fits. Juan does his best work against opponents who stand still. I'm hoping he can turn it around, that he can learn something new- he's still a young guy. Maybe his trainer may have taken him as far as he can go, but I doubt he changes. Juan seems like a very loyal guy.
