Fighters like Benn, Eubank, Hatton, Naz all fought on TV and all had a personality and exciting fights so they were all way more popular obviously.

Khan is fucking loaded already, if it's superstardom he is after and not money get the fuck back on ITV where people can see you fight, get some character and stop playing the race card because you are using it as an excuse.
Thank you Kel for totally derailing the point about racism and changing it to one about Khan's search for superstardom.

Well he is claiming that if he was white he would be a superstar in Britain and maybe the world and it's stupid. If he had superstar qualities he would already be one.

Just to be clear on my view of the situation, I don't neccessarily agree with Khans comments regarding him being a super star if he was white. I am only trying to point out that there are likely people who don't like Khan due to racism. I believe that percentage of people who are racist and are actually in a position to have some kind of influence are very small. But I'm sure there is nehativity out there stemming from Racism. Granted other people have other reasons for the negativity, and others still like to believe they have other reasons.

I think the only step anyone can really take to prove or disprove Khan's main point is to compare his popularity to a white boxer who is/was about eqivalent in career and ability. Unfortunately I don't have the boxing background knowledge for it but maybe someone else here does.

I am still a relatively new fan, but a fan none the less. Anyway, I figured I could learn something following this forum.

haha that made me laugh, Khan is probably the hottest prospect in the world, he's been a household name since he was 17, he has electrifying handspeed, is now displaying one punch ko power and was already a big enough draw to bring a Hall of Fame legend over to the UK to fight him in his own backyard.

He is the very definition of someone having superstar qualities.

Give him a ring and tell him then Bilbo

Hand speed and a win over old fighter by horrible cut = Superstar qualities.

You don't get a legend to agree to fight you, and you certainly can't be a PPV fighter just out of your teens unless you display superstar qualities Kel. You may hate him, not rate him or whatever but the kid has superstar qualities or else we wouldn't be talking about him all the time would we.

When was the last thread where we all discussed John Murray or Nathan Cleverly, or Kell Brook?

All great fighters, tremendous potential but they clearly don't have the star power that Khan has. People only want to talk about Khan, good or bad.

So Sammy Ventura has 'superstar qualities' for luring Barrera to China for a fight then, by your logic.

Ventura is Mexican Kel, he went to China too he didn't lure him anywhere.

Barrera is promoted by Don King and King put on a heavyweight card in China with Ray Austin fighting Andrew Golota and Barrera fought on the undercard. Ventura travelled over as the opponent.

King and Barrera travelled to the UK purely to fight Amir Khan, with that being the main event. It's completely different.

You just need to fool the public through marketing and bullshit not through superstar qualites.

He's racist so what....so are most people yet it's funny how shocked everyone is when they hear it. Can khan box ?? That's all that should matter.

This pretty much sums it all up , i judge boxers on ability , not colour or nationality , i don't back them just because they are white / black / English or whatever.
If Khan makes racist comments , then he has to accept anyone who is racist towards him , you cant have it both ways.
Also if someone doesnt like Khan he should just accept that , not play the RACE CARD , all the time.
