it's interesting to see if majority of uk boxing fans will root for amir khan or instead root for paulie

I still believe Khan should fight Katsidis!

Fukk that. Con needs to fight Maidana. Who is the interim title holder to his belt. Malignaggi might be a bigger name but he can't fukking punch. And non-punchers is all Con has been facing since he was almost decapitated by Prescott. How can he be new and improved if he's still being protected?

I think they want to go progressively. First, a big name to foster his name in the US and to see how he reacts against a quick and skilled boxers to give him more experience. Then they will probably go against an higher banger to test his limits a bit further. Actually, I think that this Paulie fight, if it happens, is a quite damn smart move from their side.

That's the way it is, not the way it ends

I don't know about you guys, but I think Khan will handle Malignaggi. Khan by wide UD.

First off, Amir isn't the champ, he's a belt holder, secondly he's only had the title for five minutes give him a chance! He's just got his mandatory out of the way against that organisation's mandatory number one contender, meaning he had to take that fight, now he wants to fight Paulie Malignaggi, a former world champ and whose only losses have come against Miguel Cotto and Ricky Hatton, both of whom peaked at around the number 5 spot in the Ring's p4p rankings.
Thirdly, this is the junior welterweight division, who in this division is better than Malignaggi?
Bradley, I guess you could regard him as the champion at the weight, certainly he's number 1 right now. After that it's pretty much wide open with Paulie not being behind anybody else.
He's a former world champ, a tough experienced fighter, still in his prime and he's fighting in his natural weight class.
Just because he's not a banger doesn't mean he's not a challenge. He's a great matchup for Khan, a HBO regular, a marquee name and one of the best known fighters in that weight class.

Would ya not class MAB as a world calss puncher ? The last thing a boxer losses is his punch.
This is, in my eyes, a good match up for Amir, both have similar skill-sets, i would suggest Khan hits harder than Paulie though, and it would be interesting to see if he can get Paulie out of there quicker than either Cotto or Hatton. I would go with Khan pts or late stoppage IF this fight were to come off. IMO his sparring with Manny can do nothing but good things for him.

not at lightweight no, and also even if power is the last to go, he didnt have the mobility or speed to land them shots, this really is clutching at straws !
along with the cut effecting his vision barrera couldnt land enough to test khan.... he fought one fighter with a bit of pop and we know how that turned out

Who's clutching at straws
I asked a simple question - Is MAB a world class puncher, no-one specified or asked if he can punch at different weights. Before the fight no-one including myself gave Khan much of a chance against a legend that is MAB. Especially as Khan has such a glass jaw !!!! Soo in effect MAB only had to land one clean shot on Khans chin and by all accounts he would be KO'd. My point being MAB is no mug with a world class punch. Khan survived it. FACT
