Martinez would beat Cintron again, but I think Cintron would have a very good chance against Cotto (and yes, I've felt this way since before the Pacquiao fight). Cotto's the better fighter, but he gets hit and he can be hurt.

I'm not so sure Cintron could beat Cotto. Cotto has already proven that he can take a beating and keep on coming for a good while. Cintron can bitch about Margaritos loaded gloves all he wants to, but one of the main reasons Cintron lost that fight is because Margarito took his best shots and kept coming forward. You don't need loaded gloves for that. When that happens to Cintron, his fighter mentality goes and he becomes extremely vulnerable. This is why I think Cotto has a good shot against him should they fight. I would still like to see Williams fight Cintron. I think Willimas wins it but it would be interesting to watch two tall welterweights.

There is no way that Cotto will be able to walk through Cintron's shots like Margarito did. Cintron landed some absolute bombs in the second fight and Margarito just grinned and kept coming forwards. Those same punches would to a lot more damage to a fighter like Cotto who has a good, but not great chin. Cotto could beat Cintron, I don't think Cintron could withstand his body attack for very long, but I also think Cintron has the power to hurt Cotto early, something which has happened to him before.
Good post CFH. I didn't mean to insinuate that Cotto would just walk through Cintrons shots. They would hurt him. But Cotto has alot of heart, in my opinion, much bigger than cintrons. And when two men skillfully are evenly matched, the one with the bigger heart will win. Very good point about the body shots though. Cotto has a ripping body attack and with the size of Cintron, that's a huge target to swing at. I think I've actually just convinced myself that this is a good fight for Cotto to get back in the saddle once hes fully recovered. A fight for Puerto Rican pride, a winnable fight, and a hell of a morale booster for him.

I definitely agree with that. If the fight does take place, I think it will be decided in the early rounds. That's where we'll find out if Cotto can handle Cintron's power and if Cintron will crumble before a superior fighter who outclasses him in almost every facet of the game.

Cintron gets beat by Cotto in a competetive affair.

Cintron has power, but he always looks so stiff and his defense is pretty poor. I would think Cotto would do a number on him.
I agree with that...Cotto can box and he does it well, the only guys to beat him #1 Margarito, a cheater and #2 Manny Pacquiao a guy who has crazy speed, rhythm, and hell the jury isn't out on him being clean or dirty either. The way Cotto punishes the guys he fights, I just don't see Baby Cintron taking that.
Kermit Cintron at 154 is a solid fighter but GOD he's a prick...if only James Kirkland got to fight him.
