difference between the 2 boxers is, floyd a proven cheat (in jmm fight weigh-in) while pacquiao is not

He'd accepted the ludicrous 10 million dollar penalty per pound of body weight over 147.

(which is an absolute piss take because they KNOW that Floyd has no problem doing 147 at all... they're just trying to insult him over the Marquez bout, nothing more)

Manny got his ridiculous request in, no problems... no questions... why can't Floyd get his apparently ridiculous request in?

If they are seriously worried about Floyd coming over the 147 limit (something he has never done before) and want that extra security then why isn't Floyd entitled to the extra security he wants for banned substances.

For the fight to come off there is going to have to be a bit of give and take... and right now all Manny has done is take... Floyd has accepted the extra conditions given by Pacquio and... Manny won't do the same, considering how bad it makes him look he must have a VERY good reason... we know he has tattoos so he can't be THAT scared of needles and we know that the blood cell loss will be negligible.

    So what's the problem?

All of these accusations that he is trying to drain Manny of fluids... out of the two of them, there's only one guy who has beaten up on a fighter seriously drained of fluids and his name isn't Floyd.

I don't ge how some people are making out like Floyd's scared of Pacquiao by asking him to take these tests. I've seen some comments saying this is proof that Floyd doesn't want to fight Manny. How? Last time i checked, Mayweather wanted to fight in May and Pacquiao wanted March. If Floyd was scared, why didn't he walk away then? Instead, he agreed to fight when Pacquiao wanted it. He then submitted to the ridiculous demand of $10 million per pound over. Again, if he was scared, he would have used this demand as an excuse to walk away. Now he wants Pacquiao to submit to random drug testing, which he also will undertake, and suddenly he's scared? I don't get it. Surely people should be happy to know that on the night there will be absolutely no doubt that the guy that wins is the better fighter, and not just the guy that took PEDs and didn't get caught? I think Manny's clean, but come on now, giving up the biggest payday of your career because you don't want to take a blood test to prove you're clean is just plain stupid. This should be made a rule throughout boxing, and i understand some people saying he shouldn't have to submit to something that others don't have to, but when was the last time a fighter submitted to a $10 million per pound penalty? Should that not be made a rule throughout boxing also? If he's got nothing to hide just do it. They just need to get this fight on. Whoever said these would be some of the messiest negotiations in boxing are being proved right

10 million per pound is ridiculous but if it's applied to a previous proven offender, it sounds fair. i'm guessing that offender (floyd) will have second thoughts coming in over the agreed contract weight again
$10 million/pound is never fair. Lets be real. He has never missed making 147. No fighter would have even honored continuing that negotiation but PBF still agreed to such ridiculous request. I personally think PBF called their bluff with that request.
floyd failed to honor a fight contract before. 10 million might prevent floyd from messing up with weight again

When has he ever been contracted to fight at 147 and not made the weight?

The fact that he was allowed to weigh in all the way up to 154 when he fought ODLH, yet still only weighed in at 152 shows that he doesn't exactly have much boiling down to do to make 147.

    I lose 5 pounds taking a shit...

They KNOW that he will do 147 no problem, they're just trying to get in his head over the Marquez fight a little... if that's the case then I see no reason why Floyd can't ask for strict drug testing... drug testing which most other elite athletes have to perform under and Manny suspiciously won't, as of yet.

I think Floyd should take this Olympic angle a little further and insist on having the fight be four 2-minute rounds, use Olympic scoring, head gear and so on.

The problem is that some people are diehard fans. It's no problem but these diehard fans have to look at the whole picture. And what Floyd is doing IMO is commendable. It looks like they might work it out but Manny is still saying that he doesn't wanna give blood. The blood is the KEY. I was the BIGGEST A-Rod fan, I watched him on 60 minutes saying he was clean and I was like "fuck yeah, my favorite player A-Rod is clean, he's gonna overturn the damage Bonds did" and then I found out that he wasn't. I was shocked. Really in the end, I still root for him because he's supposedly clean now and still a monster of a player but damn I just wish he was clean the whole time, now I know though. In boxing, PED use is even more important because it's physical one on one combat. I love Floyd but I really like Manny too. I'll be rooting for Floyd in the fight. I just want the winner to be clean. That's all. These diehard fans are letting the fan in them cloud their judgment. They don't care if Manny is clean or not. Their gonna root for him regardless. Which is fine but if the guy is cheating, all fans should know.

Everyone knows you hug floyds nuts.

If Manny has to take this kind of test, then every fighter should have to do it.

If we are going to change boxing, let's not do it on whim. The rules have already been set. Let's not make rules up as we go a long.

Floyd is just a pussy who don't want to fight Manny and he is using tactics to make Manny fold out of the race, well guess what? Guess who stands more to loose here? Floyd does because Manny is the king and if Floyd does not get a chance to de-throne Manny by fighting him, guess who is still the king?

    Manny.

Floyd needs to stop being a little bitch and just fight the man already. God knows Floyd has ducked everyone else. I am sure Shane Mosley will fight Manny with out having to go through a bunch of red tape.

I hope Floyd ruins this entire thing and we see Manny vs whom ever else they see fit to match him up with.

Well said! Why didn't floyd get Baldomir to take a drug test? or Gaitti, or marquez? Because he knew he could beat them. This isn't a tactic by someone thats oozing with confidence anymore. I don't know if Pacquiao is taking roids, (I personally dont think so at all) but Manny has every right to refuse it. If the man knows he isn't taking them, his trainer, family, God.... knows he's not taking than why should he? Like someone else was saying a few posts earlier, Pacquiao is the man to beat right now not Mayweather. Pacquiao is the one selling more tickets and Mayweather needs Manny more than Manny needs Mayweather! So like I said before Why do it? He's the man, he sells the tickets, he's p4p king..... and well... the King calls the shots is the way I see it. If you want to get at the King you have to attack his castle, he doesn't have to come out to meet you!

    On another note.

To anyone saying Floyd is 'selling the fight' or it's 'free advertising' etc...all I say to that is that he is doing a fucking awful job of it, talking about illegal substances I mean shit, it's not good for boxing one tiny bit is it? Floyd and his team are plonkers. Simple as that.

They have not agreed to what was asked, they are mandating a set schedule with plenty enough time to cycle around what they are proposing.

One blood test in January, one 30 days before the fight and one after the fight.

I mean some of this things are out of your system in days.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

Look, im a fan of Pacman and i aint got no great love for PBF, but for people to say that hes afraid of Pacman is just nonsense. Guys at that level aint frightened of anyone in and around their weightclass. Im afraid that im with PBF on this (i never thought id see myself say that), and i cannot see,nor have heard, any reasonable excuse why he cant do this.

tell that to Roach everytime he decides on a new weight that Pac's opponents MUST weigh-in at.

I believe that would be a step forward in this dirty sport. All high level fights should be tested. Maybe randoms for lower level fights.

Manny disagreeing to this is ruining my xmas! Take the test, prove you're clean and lets see a fair fight.
