Default Mayweather Camp alters stance on blood testing

Pacquiao, Mayweather reps change stance but fight is not closer - ESPN

Here's an excerpt of the article.

We are OK to move off USADA," Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer, who is representing Mayweather, told ESPN.com. "What we're saying, and what is important to us, is four things -- that the tests be random, that they include blood and urine and the time frame, meaning when do you stop the tests before the fight but know they will still be effective. Three of them we have agreed on -- random, blood and urine. So now it is a matter of the two sides working out the specifics of the cutoff date to assure it will still be effective."

if i were the mayweather's i wouldn't negotiate with this little exposed cheater, pacquiao!!! and to think that pacquiao is still haggling with the dates of these blood tests is further testament that he's afraid to get caught, the little rat eating larve.

What are you talking about? They are still asking for random drug tests

Floyd seems to want this fight more then Pacquiao

I was actually hoping maybe this fight wouldn't happen because then Shane would get a shot at Floyd(well the winner of Shane vs Berto) but this is good. It still will rattle Pacquiao mentally these random drug tests. Even if Pacquiao had "no knowledge" about it he has got to be wondering why his promoter was so against him taking drug tests, it plants a seed in your mind no matter who you are.

i saw this headline "golden boy backing off usada for mayweather-pacquiao". this could mean olympic style drug testing is scrapped for this fight

It is the end of 'olympic style' testing but their could still be drug tests. The problem is the politics of boxing start to work, the athletic commission doesn't meet until the 13th, where they would have to legislate some type of special blood testing policy. This is ridiculous, all of it. I wouldn't mind if the fight happened late next year though.

Mayweather beats Pacquiao steroids or not, I just don't think he wants this lucrative oppertunity to pass him by. He knows that stylistically Manny won't be able to handle his speed, accuracy, and skill in general.

As much as I notoriously hate him, Mayweather and his camp seem to be damn more flexible than Pac for this fight, sure they might need him absolutely to correct his financial situation but I find them incredibly reasonable on that sensitive issue too.

I read this as PBF is only dropping the stipulation that the USADA administer the tests, while retaining the substance of his demand: olyimpic-style testing.

Thats a brilliant tactical move. It makes him appear eager to fight while calling Pacman's bluff...that the reason he doesn't want to sign is because the USADA is biased. All he's left with now is the far-fetched notion that taking blood will weaken him...an assertion unconvincing even if true, since presumably PBF would be subject to the same weakening.

I don't think Pacs on roids; I think he's clean and reacting emotionally to his character being questioned. PBF has played him. The great tactician set a trap designed to unnerve the enemy. After all, when the enemy is annoyed irritate him further, Sun Tzu informed us. PBF managed to make the clean but hapless Pac behave exactly how a dirty fighter would under the same circumstances. Brilliant psychological warfare.

mayweather slowly started to soften its stance on drug testing. i'm guessing that ultimately the same nevada athletic commission drug testing procedure used over the years will be implemented then we have a fight on march 13

It is a brilliant move. Pac has all but lost this fight. I at least gave Pac a decent chance, now I think he has no chance. Mayweather has proven he is mentally tougher than Pac and can get under his skin. And that's already half the battle won right there. And I agree, the Art of War is a brilliant military book.
