If you get time watch his fight vs Thomas Tate, that fight is a war from start to finish. And is probably one of the most exciting Middleweights of the 90s.

You actually see Julian Jackson go 12 rounds in that one, and he is rocked many times but always come backs. That fight shows how tough Julian Jackson could be.
IMO Julian Jackson is not even the hardest hitting LMW/MW, yes he could bang but watch the fight with Tate he hits him with some bombs yes no doubt, but then watch when Roy Jones hits Tate, he just totally crumbles. IMO Roy Jones was the hardest punching MW of all time.

But when you talk about hardest punchers it's hard to talk p4p IMO, because it's about how well you use your weight and the technique of the punch and obviously a 154lbs or 160lbs man isn't going to be able to be judged against someone like Foreman who in his prime was around 225lbs.

I once watched a program on ESPN classic where they tried to explain just how hard a full blown punch off Foreman actually was and they just said that the closest thing to it is a kick from a horse. Well I've seen some injuries from horse kicks and if thats the power of Foreman that is sick power!
Hagler, Mugabi, Monzon, and Hearns all hit harder at 160 then Jones, and Jackson's was most devastating at 154, apart from maybe Hearns, Trinidad and Norris who really hit harder than him at that weight?
Gotta disagree with you here mate, I think Jones hit harder than all them at MW.

Jackson's power was frightening p4p it must be, the way he flattened his opponents said it all.

name one elite Middleweight that Jones KO'd at Middleweight that beats Hagler's list of KO defenses while being Middleweight champ

Well he wasn't really at MW long enough to fight elite other than B-Hop (and no-one came close to KOing him) but he floored iron chinned Toney at SMW and the punch that caved in Virgil Hill's ribs at LHW was freakish and the KO punch on Griffin at LHW showed his freak power, so i'd say he was p4p a better puncher at MW than LHW.

so you just said it, he didn't really ever fight an elite fighter aside from Hopkins at 160, so how can he really be considered the hardest hitting MW when he never really did anything but beat up journeymen and contenders while being there? Hagler on the other hand has a list of world class fighters at 160 whom he KO'd

don't get me wrong, Jones was a devastating puncher at 160 and 168 but IMO he wasn't the hardest puncher the division has had

Yep I suppose you make a fair point. If Jones had stayed at MW throughout his career I think we'd have seen him KO some good names though and back up my arguement better.

I think if you got Julian Jackson and Roy Jones together and put them on pressure pads to see who hit harder at MW, Jones would prevail. Just my opinion though.

It's an awful long time ago, but those who know of Stanley Ketchel will tell you he was probably the hardest hitting middleweight of all time. This young kid had dynamite in both fists and balls to match. He fought some of the biggest names in the game. The former Welterweight and Middleweight champion moved to Heavyweight to fight Jack Johnson and subsequently floored Johnson in the 12th round. As legend has it, that did nothing but upset Johnson who got up off the canvas to knockout Ketchel in the same round.

Ketchel gave up nearly 30lbs in weight to fight Johnson and very nearly added the Heavyweight title to his others. This really was one very special fighter who was sadly murdered at just 24 years old.

I really dont think you'll find a fighter in Middleweight history that hit as hard as Ketchel.
Some people say boxing is a matter of life or death, it's not, it's far more important than that.

Doesn't Frank Bruno hold the record for the hardest punch ever? I don't know who I heard it from.. may of even been a Bruno fan boy. Is there any truth to this?

Regardless he probably has one of the highest knockout percentages in HW history.

There is different types of power. Hagler was just so strong with his punches he could just punch right through your guard. Jones' power at that weight was definitely real and perhaps more explosive, but it's different levels of power there. If Jones could hit you clean, which he always could, he could drop you with one punch. Hagler though, it was just a fact that pretty much no one could go the distance with him for a whole decade. It's different.

Julian Jackson had some of the most frightening power ever, comparable to Hearns where if he could get you at the end of one of those right hands, good night.
