Hopkins will not fight in Aus, he made Joe fight in the US and he will do the same with Green.

I don't know about the boxing popularity in either place, regardless Hopkins should get 60% at least or it is a slap in the face. B-Hop is in everyone Top 10 p4p list. Mr. Green will never see that list, so I def agree I don't care where this fight is being held.

Danny Green is a household name over here, Bernard Hopkins is not. Sure if the people were told that Hopkins is a future of Hall Of Famer they would want to go even more but at the end of day alot of people in Aus have no fuckin idea who is. So for danny to ask for 50/50 when he would be the major draw is not that bad.

OK I was always under the impression that boxing in Australia really doesn't get much airtime on TV at all and that there is no regular fights on TV like Friday Night Fights or whatever in the US. Maybe I was lead wrong. Still, I really doubt the fight would be in Australia (or Europe as B-Hop calls it ), even if it was that logic doesn't really make sense. He may be the bigger draw in Australia but who has more options? Obviously it's B-Hop and he could be fighting fighters with a lot higher ranking in the sport who would be glad to take a smaller split just for the fight.

Hard to believe even a casual fan hasn't heard the name Bernard Hopkins... But you live there I don't so I'll take your word for it.

Well it makes enough sense. If they don't have weekly boxing (which I'm pretty sure they don't) and the only time they show bouts are like when Mundine and Green (Mirovic maybe? ) fight then it might be harder to track the international fighters. For example, I know like 2 f1 drivers yet it's an international sport with a much higher profile then Nascar of which I can name probably 100 drivers.

I like Green and he should count himself lucky to have found such a huge platform.Koing....clean....a future HOF'r and being matched right off with another in Hokins.Huge prestige, huge paydays and huge opportunity's.I mean wasn't he fresh off retirement and a new life racing cars or something ?Good comeback I'd say.Hopkins should get and merits a 60% cut,and no way is he going to Australia.

We do have weekly fights actually, we have our own friday night fights. Aussies love watching their own fighters fight and Hopkins is known by some fans but more fans in Aus would know who Green is. Most people i spoke to about Jones vs Green had no idea that Jones had even been good earlier in his career. Some thought he was a nobody so they arent going to have a clue who Hopkins is (i think Roy Jones is more famous then Hopkins).

Well then Aussie "fans" need to bone up on their boxing knowlege a bit not knowing future HOF'ers from other contries... That's like me not knowing Lenox Lewis, or, Tszyu, or Calzaghe, or the Klitschkos... That seems a bit ridiculous to me but whatever. They must think Gatti is a no heart hump club fighter... and that Tyson was a bag boy at a stop & shop somewhere as well.

Mate i know what ya mean but there isnt too many true boxing fans here, they love watching a fight...dont give a shit who it is though lol I would be with no doubt in my mind the biggest boxing fan in my whole town of 18 000 people, you know how i know? Coz everytime i talk to someone about boxing they dont know shit about current fighters and they sound so stupid when watching fights such as saying things like "oh the pussy moved out of the way, stand there and slug". I havent met anyone in my town that could tell me who Hopkins last 3 opponents were, which weight division Jones Jr started at and some people thought Green beat Mundine easily and he was robbed lol

So in general true boxing fans are hard to find here but general fight fans...there fuckin plenty of them

No. You're correct. Jones Jr. vs. Hopkins 2 is still the fight to be made. However, I think that Hopkins will take him out.

As for Green: he's delusional. Who the hell is Green to demand a 50/50 purse split against a man -- who was over 40 at the time -- that gave Kelly Pavlik a complete boxing clinic. Although Hopkins didn't look that good in his last fight, I think he'll be in great shape against Roy. Roy has become the victim of 'Father Time': his speed, reflexes and defensive skills have gone through a downward spiral and have exposed his chin.

Considering this, and Jones VERY suspect chin, it may seem curious that I would like to see Hopkins beat Jones. However, if Jones is willing to take the fight, which I'm sure he'll jump on, he opens himself up to whatever beating Hopkins brings to the ring.

I thinks it's a testament to Pavlik's insecurity over his skills that he didn't push for a rematch with Hopkins. Pavliks' stock dropped a lot after that clinic.

Thank god. I didn't wanna see that fight anyway.

Hopkins vs Dawson or Hopkins vs Adamek are far more interesting fights.
