It's an internet poll. One Pactard sees it, links it in the Pac forums and they all vote en masse from all over the world. It's amazing they only got 2500 votes.

It's roughly the same number of people who signed the petition to get Mayweather booted from AT and T adverts.

Most people that vote on these polls are probably Boxer fans. To be honest, the general public hates Mayweather and whether he is right or wrong really doesnt matter because most people will always find a way to blame him. I'm sure most of us can agree that if the roles were reversed the general public would still blame Mayweather. That's the price of playing the bad guy role i guess.

Actually the general public is looking at Pacquiao, not Mayweather, in an unfavorable light.

The biggest sports media outlets (espn for example) have discussed the fight & have all but pointed a finger at Pacquiao & said "He takes drugs". Friends who don't closely follow the sport but purchase the bigger PPVs are saying Pacquiao has so mething to hide because the media outlets are making it out to be true.

Even today on ESPN, while talking about the mediation, the host said something along the lines of "...The bout has been stalled because of Pacquiao's refusal of the olympic style blood tests Mayweather was requesting."

As much as I hate Mayweather viscerally, he just asked for a little test for the integrity of the sport and to a lesser degree, for his safety. As both would be tested in an equal way, I don't see the big deal, especially as such tiny amount of blood can't drain somebody down, especially if it is done a few days before the fight. 10 millions per pound is exaggerated, I agree that they put a good amount to avoid a Marquez episode II but one or two millions looked damn enough. The olympic test request to me was just a fair demand on the other side, an elite athlete that doesn't have nothing to reproach himself would have no reason to refuse a blood draw or two within the 2 weeks of the fight.
When I was super broke, I used to test medicine to earn money... 2 week-ends, 1400 can bucks in some case. Quite a fast way to get out of brokeness. On one week end, they were taking up to 20 blood draws. NOt huge quantities, but still, 20 over the whole week-end then 20 more 2 weeks after for the other seance. Honestly, I never felt dizzy or weakened whatsoever, they were all taken by catheter except for 2. I was feeling so good that once I even went for a volleyball game after the week-end on the following monday. If an out of shape guy like me went no sweat across 20 blooddraws over a week-end, an elite athlete like Pacquiao should have no problems getting 2-3 in 2 weeks.

All depends on which population is being surveyed really.

it tells us nothing: except what I've known for more than half of my life - the general public as thick as shit.

This. I don't hold much faith in the general public. A bunch of pig ignorant, ill informed muppets not willing to see things outside the box. It relates to huge swathes of issues, but probably holds quite true for this one too.
