Poonsawat--The New Danger at 122?

Did anyone happen to find a link for the Poonsawat fight in Japan this past Monday?

What is your take on this fighter?

To me he seems strong, and his technique is ok, but his pressure is unbelievable. It reminds of the pressure Pac used at this weight to overrun the division. If he can direct it correctly, does he stand a chance against the top level fighters?

I really like the future prospects of Poonsawat, he absolutely pounded Dunne into submission after Dunne had his career defining performance against Cordoba. He could definately dominate with the remainders at 122 because all the threats are moving up to feather. He is not a master of precision, but he more than makes up for that with brutal pressure as you said.

Even though he is a smaller guy, I believe his power and pressure would be too much for both of the 'champs'--Lopez struggled against Mtagwa (bc of pressure) and he has very little power in his hands. I have alot of respect for Caballero (especially in his unification effort), but I can't imagine him fending off Poonsawat for the whole fight. I would pay for the plane ticket to see him fight Nishioka!

This Poonsawat is like a little pitbull man! HBO or Showtime gotta get his ass on their shows.

Only seen a few of his fights on Youtube, but man what a fighter.

As long as Rigondeaux is at 122 he is the danger of the division, he is way too good against the type of fighter Poonsawat is, he would pick him apart with ease. Too fast, too good of a counter puncher.

I agree Rigondeaux has the ability to beat Poonsawat, but it's a matter of handlers, and who are they going to put Rigondeaux with now? The only reason to step up his competition level is to get a name on his resume and although Poonsawat deserves it, he doesn't have it yet.

I honestly think Rigondeaux is one of those few guys who could compete and dominate in a title fight already. I mean you listen to Freddie Roach who obviously loves his own fighters ,but the things he says about Rigondeaux are the things that I've said. I honeslty think if he would have preferred getting Rigondeaux when he was 22ish than Pacquiao when he got him. Rigondeaux might be too old to become the ATG he should have been, but he will have 4-6 more years of absolute dominance in the sport. Right now I think people are scared to fight him. He's already so developed physically, mentally, technically, and experience wise... you don't see that in prospects who haven't had a really big fight that they've done well in as a pro.
