Marquez is too fast for Hatton in my opinion. Ricky has disappointed his followers (not to mention himself) in his big fights. No reason here to believe he could rise up and beat a fighter like Marquez.

I went to both his defeats in vegas he never let me down,i was gutted he lost but that is boxing at the end of the day! he let himself down by lossing his head and fighting like he did.But at least he wanted the biggest fights out there and wasnt afraid of fighting them even if he did get beat he fought the very best!

I don't know about that. The only fight I would say that Hatton ever "ducked" was the rematch with Collazo. I guess you could make a case for Witter, but that dead horse has been beaten for so long that it's turned into glue.

Hatton has had a very good career and there is no shame in the Mayweather loss, but I must admit that I was dissapointed with the Pacquiao performance. Hatton was floored twice and battered unconcious in the second. He fought an awful fight and was shown up from the off. It was a downright peculiar showing and very frustrating.

Having said that, I think a Hatton with his head screwed on right can beat Marquez. Marquez doesn't belong anywhere north of 135.

A dirty victory over an old Tszyu means little to me, and the fact that you have to mention Collazo on his list of big fights (a fight that he was undeniably hurt in and arguably lost), just shows that he was never in that top echelon of fighters. A very likable, popular fighter, but by no means one of the best. Cotto would beat him him now and would've killed him when they were both undefeated. No question in my mind.

Agreed on the first point. There was too much dross under Warren, but since then I think he has fought a fair few credible opponents. Hatton has done alright and I think he is getting a lot of stick because he has lost 2 of his last 4. He has fallen short of being amongst the very best, but he is still a very good fighter and on his best day would give almost anyone a good fight. The Pac fight just took the piss, Hatton isn't quite that bad.

Hatton has never ducked a single fight or fighter in his whole career hence the reason why so many people still have so much time for him.

If manny pacquiao came a calling tommorow morning ricky would have no beef with getting back in the ring with the very man who sent him to lala land last march.

Even in the days with warren when pretty much every big name american fighter was ducking him pre-tszyu he was bringing over the finest non-us competition and making them look ridiculously average.

Ricky deserves this one last hurrah for him to go out on a high, his fans deserve the chance to say goodbye to ricky and remember him as the no nonsense ring warrior who gave it his absoloute all and had bollocks the size of grapefruits.
