I have never experienced weather like that. 40'C+ just sounds insane. I wilt at around 35'C. For it to be that hot when it comes to bedtime? Well, there's no way I would be able to sleep. I need complete comfort in order to fall asleep.

On the weather tonight it said in two days time we will have snow falls on the higher mountains!
I prefer the heat to the cold, give me your weather over ours. It saves me on heating bills and women wear skimpy clothes, whats not to like about the hot weather.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Yeah we were certainly melting down here.. We have no air-conditioning in this house either, so it stayed about 30 degrees inside the house all night... Only last night caught up on the sleep I missed 6 days ago..
Although going out for a cigarette a moment ago I needed a jacket on... Such is Melbourne weather, you can be melting in shorts one day, and wrapping blankes around you the next.. It's always a relief knowing you don't have a month straight of hot days..
Fortunately we didn't have any bad bushfires as well.. The fire bugs are usually out on the extremely hot days where hot northerly winds will whip up even a tiny spark into an enormous bushfire.
