    Default Holy Crap

Well this had my heart pumping this morning, at around 8 AM my mum charges into to my room to make sure i'm still in bed. Luckily I was out late at the gf's house and turned off my alarm this morning instead of waking up and going for my sat morning run along the beach and then a surf or a swim. Turns out there is a white pointer 30m off shore at the beach I swim at and a man is missing (presumably taken by the shark). There's planes all around the coast and cops telling people to get off the beach, it's rather intense.

I guess the moral of the story is that sometimes it's good to sleep in.

Say a silent thank you, so that you remain in divine timing andcontinue to be looked after.

Pleased it wasnt you mate, the fukker was obviously hungry.

We got one this morning but only 2 feet ,teaching a mate of mine the ins and outs well away from the crowds.

Man missing after shark attack - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

The surf beach is about a 5 min drive south of here, and that's one of the best places to go snorkelling and crabbing in the bay. He must have just been off the shelf as it drops off from 1-2m deep to about 5 or 6m. I think i'm going to change where I swim for a while

But yeah missed out big time I think , I've been told the bastard was larger than some of the search boats, so he's no baby.

Dreadful story Salty man. It seems amplified because of the time of year.

My cousin has just relocated to Aus.
I think I'll visit next May.

Sad sh!t and a strange thing is it usually happens again very close to the first one (within a week or so) but in other waters as if sharks have a linked consoiusness.

I remember the other year we had a few in one spat and some poor chick got ripped apart by a couple of Bulls sharks and everyone just watched her die on the beach, she went out the hardest way ,it leaves you hollow for a long time, like you say after the festive season it hits you harder.

    I've noticed that.
Obviously not on a first hand level, there are few dangers in the water here, but I've got some great friends in WA with whom I speak regularly and these attacks appear like the chicken pox, little clusters here and there.

Plenty of sad news during the festive season, Karma I guess.

    Dunno mate .
Its strange here its usually feb march for us when we get a spate of attacks but we got masive changes happening here with ocean currents and weather patterns going back to what they were once along time ago.

the Elnino affects us dramatically here, stops rain, stopsthe surf stops fish breeding too; then the reverse comes into play as is happening right now.

We got the largest haul of snapper in our bay on record this year.Fukkin giants of fish people litterally throwing back fish of 10lb cause they know theres a chance of getting a giant any miniute. (we can only take home ten). Sharks love snapper and follow them around I hear.

With the shark attacks ; maybe its just a seasonal thing like holding on to a metal rod in a lightning storm. You going to get away with it all year until the wrong season hits and if your the fool out in water at all the wrong times having a piss ,nervous with sporatic movments unsure of yourself ...bang your a gonner.

I think in the summer late in the arvo once the sun starts getting low or at first light specially when its around the high tide mark...dont swim in anything over a couple of feet of water. Dont piss in the water either as its got ammonia in it, just like blood has.
We also have more people at the beaches now on holidays and they just plough on in without a thought but they also have an underlying fear of beig out of their element.

we who venture out there all year expect to be confronted a coule of times and i dont think we have the same nervous energy or victum frequency around us either.

Its a decision and we take it knowing fully and we will fight back too. So I wonder if something that prehistoric like a great white, picks up on all that as well. just a thought.

Isnt that weird, on Nat geo just then was shark attack and they went into the theroy behind the different types.

    Amazing timing yet again.

How did Nat Geo know there would be an attack the day before and up the Australian interest in the program?

Pretty interesting that the immediate family has requested that they do not hunt the shark.Defies the kneejerk reaction seen all to often....sorry for them but sort of refreshing.Pretty sure they would come across more than one and not be discriminating on which is taken out?Just the chance ya take seeking recreation in another's domain.

Yeah mate too right we nearly hunted them out of existance through our fear and then later on from our greed.
Japanese are still cutting the fins off and just letting them drown for their shark fin soup.
Vietnamese still raping all the reefs for abalone.
Asia is still killing tigers and wild cats
    still killing whales
    dolphins on occasions too accidently.

All that mostly over an inferiorority complex to do with being viril enough for their women!
