This is the only organization I know that has a Super Cruiser division.

They also don't recognize the Strawweights.

I also notice they still use some of the default images from the template they used for the website.

On the about page it's all about Dean Chance's failed baseball career.

If you are looking for a place to network in boxing as a promoter you (your friend) should go to local gyms, local fight nights etc. and just talk to everyone get your name and face out there, looking to a fly-by-night operation like the IBA is by far and large a waste of time. Get involved volunteer to help out with events so you (your friend) can learn how the show goes together, what it involves and what you might not be thinking about.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

    Thanks

If you are seriously thinking about being a promoter you need a plan, something more than

    1. Get venue
    2. Get fights
    3. Profit

Promotions are a huge cash drain, if you are going to do it right you must have your finances in order, you need to look professional (your own appearance, your website everything). You need to get a real photographer, a real web designer, a real graphic designer etc. You need to take care of your fighters that you promote, be ready for damage control if any negative press comes out, but above all you have one job
to put asses in the seats.

    Hi Madmax.

I've heard of the IBA. To be honest their title really doesn't mean a thing. Just one of many many minor titles.

There are 4 'proper' belts in boxing - WBC, IBF, WBA, WBO. But 99% of boxing fans would agree that this is 3 too many in itself.

Also, yes, James Toney is a big name as he USED to be great, however it really doesn't make much difference. 99.9% of people would not know that he is IBA champion, furthermore, and i don't mean this to sound harsh, but even James Toney himself probably doesn't know he's the IBA champion. Such is the standing of the organisation. Often minor belts are just designated to a fighter without them even fighting for it. So, the IBA could award belts tommorow to Pacquiao, Mayweather, Klitscho etc but it what still not make it legitimate.
