You trying to tell me Hopkins gets more money fighting Adamek than Jones ? I don't think so.
Hopkins actually wanted Green before Jones, but Green seemed to think he deserved 50-50 split.
Hopkins plans on going to heavyweight after his fight with Jones, It will be against the winner of Haye - Ruiz.
Hopkins is a money fighter ? Whether you like it or not, money concerns every fighter and if i'm correct Hopkins donated his purse from his last fight to charity. Yeah he's all about the money.

He donated it to charity?
He made $200,000 against Ornelas. He makes MORE just doing promotional work for Golden Boy ($250,000 per gig).
All fighters chief concern is how much money they make. Hopkins is the daddy of chasing his most lucrative option. That's why he's fighting shot-to-bits Roy instead of Chad "worth two bob" Dawson.
Legacy over money is something that only occupies fans minds

Hopkins could retire tommorow and still be one of the greatest to ever step in the ring...A top 25 IMO....This like I said is just more or less a score to settle on Hopkins part and Jones well...Right now he has not too many options does he?...IO am sure he believes that since he won the first one he should win the rematch easily....
Hopkins is a charitable person just does not make public note of it...He has donated millions to the city of Philadelphia causes....Big on childrens charities as well....
He is a cheap ass son of a gun though and even cheaper when it comes to spending his money but the man came from nothing and he has seen countless other fighters who made a lot more then him go broke...He is not going to be another cliche
Hopkins is fighting Roy because it's the best "risk-reward" fight over his other options - Dawson, Bute, Adamek or Green.
He already turned down $2 million for Adamek.
Here's Hopkins view when in his pomp - "I'm glad that I have three belts because that means I have three mandatories a year and I can make $2 million or $3 million dollars every time I step in the ring with Donald Duck. I can deal with that."
Hopkins wants the easiest fight for the most money. He's smart.
