He had Trinidad on his ass but tired, he took everything he had to offer on the chin and got stopped to the body.

Very exciting fighter though, I think if he hadnt been flumuxed by Spinks who some people think he beat anyway we could have seen him in some very good fights while he still gave a shiit and trained, I think he would have waded through Mosley back then and possibly Tito as well.

Oscar suprised me with his power against Mayorga, he dropped him clean with a left hook, Mayorga really wasnt that hurt though he got up and carried on for a few more rounds, he was more knackered by the end than beat up.

Mosley said in his build up to Mayorga that Oscar told him "Mayorga has very heavy hands"

As long as he learns some groundwork and take down defence he will be fun to watch in mma as well, although his first fight is supposed to be against Din Thomas whos very good.

Some people think Ricardo Mayorga beat Cory Spinks ? that fight wasn't even close Cory Spinks totally outboxed Ricardo Mayorga and won by atleast 4 rounds.

The only controversy was that Cory Spinks went to the canvas like 5 times, but none of those were knockdowns, maybe 1 was sort of a knockdown but i don't know about that, but even if you scored it. Cory Spinks was still a clear winner.

My favorite fight of Ricardo Mayorga's was his 2nd fight with Vernon Forrest, that was a great battle in the 2nd half of the fight, and it was very competitive i don't really know who won that fight, i thought it was a draw.
Mayorga EASILY beat Spinks. Still to this day my Father refers to that is the greatest robbery in boxing history. And so do I. Mayorga won nearly every round, Spinks RAN and NEVER landed anything significant on Mayorga. Mayorga was robbed of at least 2 knockdowns he scored. It was a joke and it sent Mayorga's career from undisputed welterweight champion into a "special attraction".

Anyone who knows anything about how to score a boxing match knows Mayorga beat Spinks. It was an incredibly easy fight to score with Mayorga being the only one who came to fight and Spinks came to run and slap and try and eek out rounds and not engage with Mayorga at all.

Spinks would go on to get more gift decisions like those against Judah the first fight and Karmazin. But none were nearly was blatant or bad as the one he got against Ricardo Mayorga that night.
One of the worst decisions in boxing history, you are kidding right ? and i know full well how to score a fight. Cory Spinks outboxed Ricardo Mayorga clearly, he made him miss mostly all night long.

He countered him effectively, and he never let Ricardo Mayorga get into the fight. He constantly kept the fight on the outside.

So what if Ricardo Mayorga was the aggressor and Cory Spinks, didn't want to engage. Was Ricardo Mayorga able to do anything about it ? no he couldn't, infact he was getting so frustrated, he hit Cory Spinks after the bell and got himself a point deducted.

All i know is that Ricardo Mayorga looked totally frustrated, and Cory Spinks was able to make it his kind of fight and he outpointed Ricardo Mayorga clearly.

Even the commentator's one of them including Chris Byrd, thought Cory Spinks was the clear winner.

The only thing i agree on is that maybe Ricardo Mayorga deserved one knockdown in the last round, but even if it would of been scored it wouldn't of made much of a difference points wise. Plus remember Cory Spinks had a 10-8 round when Ricardo Mayorga lost a point, for hitting Cory Spinks after the bell
