This is the second best fight that could get made in the sport & I suspect they've already agreed it & are just waiting because of the Berto situation.

I like Mayweather by close decision, but Shane is no underdog for me, I'd have it a 55-45 fight in favour of Mayweather. The winner will fight Pacquiao assuming he wins (which I think is close on a given, it's a great style match-up for him).

    this.

its really hard to see who's gonna be on top. i love both fighters but i wanted to see how mosley looked with berto first but i guess that ain't happening. still, mayweather by close decision. but there's this very good chance mosley imposes his will on mayweather.

It will be the second best option with the Pac fight having blown out the window. Mosley at his best gives Mayweather fits, but I have to wonder how Mosley is really. By the time he gets in the ring, he will have been out almost 18 months and will be well into his 38th year. Like I say, Mosley with the speed and stamina at his best is a real hard nights work for Mayweather, but there is no way of telling where Mosley is at. The Berto fight would have been a great indicator. It's a shame that one is off as it would have given us a clearer idea about Mosley.

Wow. I'm almost as excited about this as I was for Pac vs PBF. I mean Pac's a better fighter, in his red hot prime and his in and out weaving style sort of reminds me of Duran...in that its essentially offensive but still serves a defensive purpose.

But Mosely is arguably more dangerous at welterweight. He's natural at this weight and we all know it just takes one punch to change the complexion of a fight. Only Williams would be a braver fight for PBF IMO, b/c of his Hearns like height and reach advantage as well as the remarkable quantity of punches he throws. But fighting Mosley puts an end to the myth of PBF as dodger. This is the way a brave fighter behaves.

In comparison, Clottey vs Pac seems lame. Clotty is a terific fighter but he's not in Mosely's class, having just lost to a man who was destoyed by Pac, and who was never the same after being plastered by Margarito.

i just read this from examiner:

A solid source inside Team Floyd Mayweather has just informed me that Money May is balking at fighting Sugar Shane Mosley and that is the reason for the holdup on the announcement of a May 1 or a May 8 bout between the two American ring stars.

“Floyd did the math and Floyd is saying, why should I take a potentially difficult bout against Mosley for $10 million or less when I get $40 million or more to fight Manny Pacquiao and that could be an easier fight to win,” the in the know person said Saturday night.

Isn't the Examiner like the NY Daily Post, National Enquirer, People magazine. You know a tabloid rag?

I find it hard to believe he'd only make a quarter the money fighting Mosely that he would make fighting Pac.

    That's hilarious.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

I can see no issues that can derail this fight at all.
Not unless Mayweather pulls his stuff again. Who knows, he's so smart for everybody I guess.

Here are possible demands of Mayweather to Mosley

    Weight limit 147lbs
    Gloves - 10
    Purse - 35/65 for Floyd
    Urine test (NSAC administered)
    Blood test (Olympic style)

I see all these are OK with Mosley so theres no reason at all that this fight wont happen.

If I think like Mayweather I would ask another demand:
Mosley should have 100 fire ants up inside his underwear come fight night. If he disagrees then theres no fight.

    BREAKING NEWS FROM PACQUIAO:

"Ehhh the fight with Clottey will be at ehhh 126 lbs. because it only be fair now that i can't worship "god" anymore."

it's quoted in italics and underlined so it must be true

I don't see any reason on Mosley's part as to why this fight would not go through unless the money split is ridiculously disadvantageous to him (like 75/25 or lower). I also don't think Floyd would put Shane in this situation, otherwise he will again be accused of trying to duck another worthy opponent. Shane is desperate enough to accept almost every terms that Floyd would request. Since the fight hasn't been signed yet, then what is holding it up?
Floyd is known for his grandstanding antics (I'm not saying here that this is necessarily bad). Since he can dictate the terms in the fight he would have grabbed any opportunity that will take the limelight away from the Pacquiao-Clottey fight & this is by the immediate announcement of his fight with Mosley. The fight could have been signed already since they have the same promoter or they could have leaked that it's almost a done deal. So why is it not all over the media (it's in a few) like what happened to the Mayweather-Pacquiao negotiations? Is he really having second thoughts?
I feel the same way as another poster (I don't even recall if it's in this thread or another thread) who said that Floyd will likely sit it out & wait for the Pacquiao-Clottey fight so that he can again challenge Manny for more money. But my thoughts here is that he may try to win back the P4P title by not even fighting & this will happen if Manny loses.
For the good of boxing, I wish & hope that this is not the case & I will give Floyd the credit if his fight with Mosley does go through. I'd want to watch that fight.
Ps: Please don't be rough with a newbie.
