I don't blame Khan really, JMM's a marquee fight and if he wins it will just further burnish his reputation as a legend killer.
Roach really makes me laugh...everytime he puts Marquez down I think to myself, "So why did your number 1 fighter and apparently the best p4p fighter struggle with him if Khan and Rigondeaux will destroy him so easily?".
In this sport I find it ironic, the people called arrogant and big-mouths usually seem to be the ones speaking the truth. Mallignagi, Vargas, Haye etc - Maybe truth hurts![]()
I am not a Khan fan but it is better for him to fight JMM, Maidana and Bradley in that order
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Khan wants none of Bradley.
I don't blame him really, Bradley is too experienced and too well rounded for Khan at this point.
A Marquez/Khan fight is interesting because it all depends on what Marquez shows up.
Do we see a slow fat Marquez like against Mayweather or do we see the accurate fast counterpuncher like we saw against Casamayor and Diaz.
I personally think Marquez looked worse at 147 because he was in the ring with Mayweather, the weight was a factor though as his timing and speed weren't what they normally were.
Against Khan, Marquez will be fighting at 140 pounds which is one division below where he fought Mayweather. This is a good thing for Marquez as his timing, speed and power should be sharper. If Marquez is like he was at 135, Khan will be getting a beating and likely ko'd.
I do see Khan causing Marquez trouble with his movement and speed but i see Marquez putting punches together and working Khan's body as the fight progresses, once Khan slows down i see Marquez dropping him later in the fight. Marquez by TKO.
I think this is undoubtedly a tougher fight than Maidana & probably more than Bradley still.
My problem with it is this. Khan hasn't earned a shot at an elite fighter like Marquez. Granted JMM lost his last fight badly, but that was against an ATG. It's more the reasons why Khan's team are going for this fight that piss me off & how Maidana, who whichever way you spin it he should be fighting, is getting shafted & instead is taking the high-risk/low-reward route with Cayo.
Khan could solve all his problems fighting Bradley for the lineal championship (which Pacquiao will vacate as soon as Freddie wants to drop Amir in there). Most people on here know that I'm a bit of a Khan fan & actually *cough* buy his PPVs, but this move just pisses me off. I have a feeling if its close, JMM gets shafted. Again (see mssrs. Norwood, John & Pacquiao).
What does it matter really?JMM is a marquee name with top exposure...literally for Khan....exposure.He'll just get taken deep and counter punched all night,a classroom for young Khan losing to a great.Bradley has been a solid respectable champion, hitting his stride who fights all comers though lacks name status. Not stellar is any one area but top notch in all,and has improved over last two go's...that said he too beats Khan. But via TKO.Bradley is one of the most slept on fighters going, and all he does is fight his ass off and win.Khan wants none of him,but will make better bank on Marquez.
