I would have been much more interested in seeing his original idea. The traditional Robin Hood story has been done and redone so many times I have very little interest in seeing another film (though I'll probably watch it).

I saw the trailer in theaters and it looks like "Gladiator II"
Even the plot synopsis sounds like Gladiator:
Robin Hood is a powerful Roman general, loved by the people and the aging Emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Before his death, the Emperor chooses Robin Hood to be his heir over his own son, Commodus, and a power struggle leaves Robin Hood and his family condemned to death. The powerful Robin Hood is unable to save his family, and his loss of will allows him to get captured and put into the Gladiator games until he dies. The only desire that fuels him now is the chance to rise to the top so that he will be able to look into the eyes of the man who will feel his revenge.
Ridley Scott is usually awesome though.

I don't know if it's just me but Russell Crowe seems way too old to be playing Robin Hood, he should have been Sheriff of Nottingham & maybe give the Robin Hood role to someone like Cillian Murphy or Sam Worthington (that's the guy who was Scarecrow in Batman & the guy from Avatar respectively).
I think that looks shite.

It doesn't interest me, Robin Hood has been done to death over the years. Wasn't there some TV series just a few years ago too? The film I am most looking forward to this year is Toy Story 3. I love that Pixar shit.
