You can even sense it on the forum here, the hype bubble has completely deflated now, and there is a real air of resentment towards Manny (and with good reason!) The cloak of invincibility that has surrounded him for the last few years has well and truly disappeared!
Yeah... Fighter of the Year/Fighter of the Decade Bullcrap!... This dumb group, Boxing Writers Association of America, bestowing these awards to Manny. Shame, shame, it makes a lot of boxing gurus angry.
Who deserves the award more? In this decade Manny has put himself at the highest spot in the All time p4p food chain since Roberto Duran.

Marquez deserves it more. He beat Manny Pacquiao twice, cleaned up 135 and at least had the balls to step up and face Floyd Mayweather. Pacquiao has beaten people, but avoiding Mayweather and refusing drug testing has tainted him beyond measure. There will be an inevitable backlash against him and so there should be.

Yes Cotto did beat Shane , but Cotto had a real dig on him , Mayweather does not hit as hard , therefore Shane will be able to let his hands go without worrying about taking BIG POWER shots .
I am going for a Shane win , he will also be the first to floor and hurt Mayweather.

I was watching the Cotto/Mosley fight earlier today and it was really very close. Mosley took a handful of the early rounds and finished strong in the championship rounds. It could have gone either way. And that was Cotto before anyone had got to him too.

My only worry is if Mosley gets sloppy and reckless because Mayweather will make him pay. Mosley sometimes forgets that the KO might not come and that you need to try and win each round too. He needs to get it just right against Mayweather.

Me too. Fingers crossed Mosley gets it right. Floyd deserves to lose his 0 and to do it to against an old man would be fantastic.

first, jmm did not beat pac twice FACT.

jmm took on pbf yes but did not made a good impression.

jmm achievement does not surpass what pac did. pac was accused of doing peds but he was never found guilty. so believing that everything pac did has no weight anymore simply cause of accusations is stupid.

sorry for making this a pac thread.

first, pac did not beat jmm twice FACT.

jmm (the current lightweight champ) took on pbf (at welterweight, in his only fight above 135 lbs. and at 36 years of age) and was dominated, but did not pussy out like Manny

jmm achievements surpass what pac did (beating Pacquiao twice and getting robbed, while cleaning out the featherweight division, and picking up wins against Barrera, Casamayor and Juan Diaz along the way to clean out the division where Pacquiao had only beat a bum). pac was accused of doing peds and came up with all sorts of ridiculous excuses as to why he couldn't take the tests and also his tantrums have had him look very guilty. so dropping a $40 million dollar payday just because of a series of simple blood tests and allowing the only other fighter he (Pacquiao) was ducking (Mosley) to pick up his pay check is stupid
sorry for making this a pac thread.
i fixed your post, don't worry no need to thank me

I kind of stand by my point about JMM being more important than Manny Pac. We as fans know what the real deal is, Marquez clearly outboxed Manny over the vast majority of the rounds that they fought and was hard done by. The second fight was especially harsh in my eyes. He then went up and beat the two biggest threats at LW. Manny went and fought a mediocre David Diaz that a shot Morales took to the wire several months prior. And at the end of the day, Marquez did have the balls to face the best in Mayweather. There was no good reason for Manny not to fight Mayweather, running away from that fight hurts his stock more than any win has raised it because the doubts and suspicion are firmly planted and they are not going away.
