Meeting the girlfriend's family for the first time

My girlfriend's mum died last week and we went to the funeral yesterday.

It was the first time I had met her family.

Fuck me they were a bunch of miserable bastards

I've been lucky in general with step family except once where both of the girlfriend's parents of the time used to be psychologist. Can you imagine that, I was analyzed all the time. At least, they both said to her that I was the best guy she ever brought home. Still, the Dad was ok burt the mother was absolutely un-bearable and overly protective.
