Shane's smart, he's strong, he has very quick hands, he's not killing himself to make weight, and Floyd can't hurt him.

I think Floyd has been apprehensive about fighting a couple guys at 147 and rightfully so in some cases: Cotto, Williams, Margarito, Shane Mosley, and Pacquiao. Now of course the Floyd fans will say Floyd has little left to prove and those fights didn't make sense etc etc but Floyd's record speaks for itself he never once said "Give me Cotto and I'll beat him" or "Give me Williams and I'll beat him" he simply waited until they lost and said "See, they weren't worthy of a shot vs me" and it doesn't make sense for Floyd not to fight when the money is to his liking. If he was truly "Money Mayweather" he would have fought at least 3 of those guys because you cannot tell me that ANY of those fights wouldn't have made HUGE money at the gate and on PPV.

Stylistically Floyd has very little to offer Shane, the guys who have beaten Shane either use their height and reach (Forrest & Wright) or are durable enough to trade with Shane and get the better of him (Miguel Cotto and to a lesser extent De la Hoya in the rematch was able to hang with him). Floyd has great defense but he isn't as effective until he gets a fighter to tire themself out, vs Judah and Hatton he allowed them to do work early and chase him around the ring while he pot shotted them for at least half the fight knowing especially that Zab would have 0 to offer him later in the fight and that's when Floyd turned it on....Shane doesn't have much in the defense department but he's strong and he's got fast DANGEROUS hands and he's going to beat Floyd.
Lyle i have already said in a previous post , that Shane will win and be the first to drop and hurt Mayweather.
Floyd has already been hurt and dropped. He took a count vs Hernandez. He was floored by Judah but a count wasnt given. He was hurt by Corley and he was almost floored by Hatton in the 1st . Mosley is alot better than those guys.
What you're saying is only partially true. He broke his hand in the Hernandez fight and that's why his glove touched the canvas. His glove also touched against Judah, which should have been ruled a KD in hindsight, but he wasn't badly hurt. Corley buzzed him a bit, but again it's not like he was in danger of being stopped. The only reason he stumbled against Hatton was because he was off-balance, Hatton never hurt him in that fight. IMO Mosley is in for a beating.

Completely agree, Floyd has yet to have been really damaged in a fight and he has definitely been caught more than once on some solid shots. Honestly though I doubt Shane even lands one solid shit. Shane maybe wins 2 rounds

It is crazy if you had asked me about Floyd when he fought Hatton, I would have cursed his name, couldn't stand the guy. After going through and watching a lot of his fights again and maybe just me getting old. I find his style nothing but gratifying lately. This is the first fight I am rooting for him and will continue to do so. He is just incredibly gifted
McGirt recalling the minute break between the 9th round of the Ward fight "He said, 'Help me stand up and I'll finish the fight.'"

I'm similar, against Oscar I wanted him to get beaten into retirement. But since i have sat back and just tried to enjoy his talent and now thats exectly what i do and have become something of a Floyd fan!

Floyd hasn't given a top fighter in the same weight category a beating since Corrales, so I think that idea is just smoke...... Gatti was way way way past his best, and even his best wasn't that great. A slow and bloated Marquez caught PBF square on the nose, so based on that, with his speed and movement, so will Mosely, albeit not a huge land percentage i don't think. I'd say that this is the real test for me, chin..... If Mayweather can take a shot from Mosley, then he takes a tight decision over 12 I think.
