I agree I have seen Mattyse only a few times but to me he has never overwhelmed me, kind of 1 dimensional.

His one dimension can cause concussions though. Harris hasn't looked well at all lately and even though the stoppage was premature, Matthysse was starting to have his way and landing his shots nothing good could have come from that going on longer.

Maybe its with the full benefit of hindsight seeing Harris get hurt and badly effected by so so shots in recent outings... and possibly the ref is guilty of the same....but I'm in the minority here.I dont think it was an atrocious stoppage at all.Harris frankly is showing signs of a shot fighter and acting on instinct slash memory in there. He had a prevention posture and the last portion of round he was backing and clearly 'effected' by shots and opponents offense in one way or another...he looked stiff, stood straight up and the guy was beginning to punch 'through' anything Harris offered in the last round. Was a KO in the making and right around the corner if you ask me.Might be a case of a guys past held against him but I'll take that over what we saw his last appearance on FNF's and taking out on a stretcher. He needs to get out Imo...now.

I completely agree Spicoli but at the same time I don't agree, kind of. Top that wishy-washy-ness, I don't know, let me explain, with more commas

Anyways, I agree that to me Vivian Harris' fighting legs seem to be in frighteningly bad shape. He may have been giving this kid hell with his fists but I mean look at how he moves around, it's something you notice in person moreso then anything but the sound of the punches. Vivian Harris should just retire. This is only my opinion, bu Whenever you see a guy leaning forward into punches that's never a good sign it's just a sign that they can barely hang in and plus he just bounced way off the ropes, it's eery and kind of scary.

With that said, Harris was landing a lot and did a lot of his own damage. Tricky situation, I don't think the stoppage itself was right but I can see the referee trying to be extra cautious.

Watched all this fight and is wasn't too bad atall, Harris was always throwin back but Matthysse just wore him down. Very quick stoppage but i'd say that if there was a worry about Harris' safety then his corner should have stepped in for sure, not the ref.

The weirdest thing was that I didn't see Harris laying down enough leather to close Matthysse' eye up that bad. Anyway, I think Matthysse if matched right could be in a few wars, but aside from that I'd say he'd get comfortably outboxed by someone like Paulie. I'd like to see him in with someone like Maidana or Urango, that could be fun, and I say he'd certainly give Bradley somethin to think about....

It's not the worst, a bit of an obscure one but does anyone remember Guillermo Jones-Wayne Brathwaite? That stoppage was much worse imo and there are others. It's not fair to Harris at all I admit, but given his track record I can't throw my hands up and complain because you have to include the recent history of Harris in my opinion, I'd just rather see Harris retire.

Terrible stoppage or not, dude is done. Vivian's own promoters put him in this fight to showcase mattyse. He had little chance of winning soon as he signed to fight. Once again...mr harris thanks for coming.
