Luongo player terrific. Ed Olczyk doesn't know fuck all about hockey. That being said, Miller was the better goalie.

That was one of the best hockey games I have ever seen. While I'm glad Canada won, a part of me is disappointed that the U.S. didn't pull it out. It would have been so good for the growth of what I feel is the best team sport in the world. The team really seemed to capture America's attention and I can only imagine what would have happened had they won.

That being said, Canada - fuck yeah!.

And no one call say Luongo hasn't won anything ever again.

People are going fucking nuts here by the way. I live just outside of downtown and cars and trucks filled with people and Canadian flags etc. are streaming towards downtown. The horns and yelling haven't stopped since they won.

I'm gonna wait for the blood test results before I congratulate Canada

    I kid, I kid.......

That was a great game pretty heartbreaking, but an entertaining one.

Gratz Canada on earning that gold.

Back from germany where I did watch it with some friends and friends friends (all for Canada, apparently), I am drunk and happy from that nice little piece of entertainment, USA did show they were gritty but in the end, Super Glad our boys made it... especially because their medal was the final nail that broke the old USSR era of 12 gold medals for an Olympic event. Quite a symbol indeed.

    Yes congratulations Canadians

I enjoyed it, I have a feeling that if I start paying attention to the NHL that it won't be quite as good as those two US-Canada games. They were just, fast paced I guess is the word. I mean even some of the other games in the Olympics weren't nearly as interesting, for whatever reason, and maybe I'm wrong about this, the European teams seemed to kind of be playing in slow motion compared to the US and Canada teams.

Anyway, the right team probably won, it seemed that Canada was just a slight bit better and seemed more likely to score in overtime. And no I won't refer to US 7-Canada 6 too often.

BTW I was wrong about that Patrick Kane guy. He is a bit lightweight but he's pretty good. Him, Kesler, and Parise stood out to me among the US attacking players.

The US team is pretty young, I would think going into 2014 they would be considered more of a favorite.

Regular season NHL games will not, generally speaking, be anywhere near as intense as the Olympic games. Nor will they possess the same level of overall team skill. However, the NHL playoffs are every bit as intense (though in a slightly different way) and the best of 7 format serves establishes heated rivalries and creates some of the most entertaining and nerve-wracking sports moments I have ever witnessed. If you're interested in the sport, I would suggest that you casually follow a team through the season and then watch them in the playoffs. There is nothing better to watch than the NHL playoffs IMO. I literally have trouble sitting down and not pacing when the Canucks are involved in the post-season, it's ridiculous.

To be honest, I prefer the NHL playoffs to the Olympics.

Well yeah thats what I figured for just about any sport, I don't EVER watch a regular season NBA game but I get into the playoffs almost every year.

I have to find a team though. I would seriously consider the Canucks for two reasons, one Kesler was one of my favorite players on the US team and more importantly I could ask you who the fuck all these people are but the time zone sucks, I'm on Central Time so I'm sure most games would start here at 10, or 9 at the earliest.

I'm in the South but don't care about rooting for a Southern team, LOL I had no idea that Nashville even had a team and that's like 3 or 4 hours from here. I have no idea why fucking Nashville, Tennessee has two pro sports franchises but I guess that's besides the point.

And I feel it goes against my ethics to latch onto a top team. Although I'd consider Chicago.

I still may consider Vancouver, its not like I go to bed at 10 every night.

Pick the Pens Ouma. They are a young and awesome team and I know you secretly are crushing on Crosby. Plus rooting for the same team as CFH? dude, seriously. He's usually about 8 beer and 4 crown royal in before their games even start. No good to come of that. i'm guessing if they actually won something...it would late night drunken handy offers for all Nuck fans!

Everyone in the League EXCEPT for the Penguins have the chance of winning the me lottery. I hate Crosby's face and his moustache, and I for some reason dislike all Pittsburgh sports teams.

I rarely drink during Canucks games. I save it for afterwards when I need to drown the sorrows of yet another failed game/season/decade.

As much as it pains me to say it because I hate them, I think as a new hockey fan you'd find Chicago to be a good team to cheer for. They, along with the Sharks, are probably the most exciting teams in the West. Vancouver is a fairly exciting team as well . You've seen Kesler play and the Sedin's are magicians with the puck. Almost all of their home games start at 7pm PST. In all honesty Chicago is a much more offensive-minded team though, as much as I dislike them.

Well I'm giving the Canucks a try. Their stream works and I have nothing to do and they're in the top 5 possibilities.

I can't say its been absolutely enthralling. Definitely not as intense. The crowd's all playing on their PSP's or some shit.

But I want to have a team by the time the Playoffs start.

And they just scored, that Demitra guy from the Olympics.

I know or at least have heard of the Sedins, Kessler, Demitra, Salo, Luongo and that's about it.

Scratch the Columbus Blue Jackets off the list. They weren't really on to begin with but now they're definitely off.

    The Blue Jackets?

This Molson commercial is hilarious. This land makes us what we are, its our backyard, it Canada, its freedom.
