The fact is he called him out. I don't see how you can dispute it, he said clearly he wanted to fight him along with De La Hoya & Gatti (both of whom he fought) & Tszyu. That's not 'take on everybody' talk, that's pretty specific, I could agree with you if he said I'll fight anyone, but he said only four fighters.
Doesn't make sense to say he called him out then, but then up until pacman deciding not to blood test, floyd always dismissed shane as the guy with five losses...funny thing is in that video shane had four losses and was still at 154 but he was calling him out? Perhaps the mentioning of shane's name was because he had just lost four fights and looked done.
And if you name the top guys of the divisions you can fight in...gatti, tyzsu, SSM and oscar? Who else was there for him to fight or name? He was looking to do exactly what he was accusing shane of doing which was make money off someone else's name. Because in that video he was not a pay per view attraction in slightest...Mosely and Oscar were the biggest names he could reasonably fight.
And YES, calling someone out is exactly what shane did, much like tarver did to roy jones. Only one name until you get that guy in the ring...
Actually what Mosley did and what Mayweather did are two VERY different things.
There's very different things here in the situations. Which I shall explain to you.
What Shane is doing now which is the same thing I've been saying he is doing, is looking for one final payday to go off into the sunset on.
Mayweather does have a claim to that because he called Shane out when they WERE in their primes. But Mosley pulled the same game that people accused Mayweather of not saying he was a draw. He called Mosley out again around the time Mosley beat Vargas and Mosley didn't take it. And now that he is nearing the end of his career he wants to fight Mayweather?
I said that Mosley was looking at one last payday against Mayweather. Then people said "Oh he wants to fight everyone, it's proven cause he fights Berto and is giving him a chance" But you neglect that Mosley said that if a fight with Mayweather could be made he WOULDN'T fight Berto. Funny how people forget that. Mosley is nearing the end of his career and he is looking for one LAST HUGE payday to go off into the sunset on and retire. And that name right now is Mayweather or Pacquiao. So Mayweather is right when he says Mosley is going to make a claim off of a name, which is true, but heck even Hopkins is doing that now, fighters do that at the end of their career for a final payday Mosley isn't the first and he won't be the last. But the thing people ignore is that Mayweather IS right when he says it. Mosley had ample opportunities to fight Floyd when he was in a prime or close to it, but he chose not to, and only chased Floyd when he neared the end of his career and wanted a final payday win or lose that doesn't detriment his career because it ain't gonna last much longer instead of in his prime where a loss to Mayweather would have.
Now you CAN NOT call what Floyd did in those post fight interviews as the same thing Mosley did. Floyd has called out these guys when they WERE in their primes. And before you say that he wanted Tszyu, gatti, DLH, Mosley near the end of their careers, he'd been calling out Mosley since he first beat Hernandez, and talked about wanting to fight the winner of Casamayor vs Freitas, or Prince Naseem after he beat Corrales. And he had been talking about fighting Tszyu since he beat Jesus Chavez. Neither of those fighters were shot at the time he called them out now were they? That's calling fighters out. he called those fighters out at a time when they were primed, and at a time where IF they had beaten him it could have derailed his boxing career. He didn't wait until the twilight of his career to finally call out someone that isn't gonna derail his career win or lose cause he can retire with a big payday. He called those guys out BEFORE he was at that point in his career and that is NOT the same as what Mosley did with Floyd. Whether you want to try to single it as not your opinion of calling someone out it is what it is. And Mayweather even said at the Marquez presser "Go back and watch the Henry Bruseles interview or even the genaro Hernandez interview when I became 130 pound champion we tried to make the fight happen and he didn't want it. But now that he's got 5 losses and nearing the end of his career, now he wants to fight me." And thats basically what I'm saying here and it's true. No matter how you want to look at it. Mosley never wanted Floyd Mayweather until the end of his career, point blank.
In the great video age of fighting..if they have footage of Aaron pryor calling out SRL, surely all of the floyd blind fans can come up with a interview archive in which he is specifically calling him out, not generalized "i'll fight this guy and that guy" post fight nonsense. If you don't have the transcript or the video then its nothing more than recycled floyd camp hogwash..as it remains Shane went on ESPN and called floyd out, then got in the ring and called him out, period..both times floyd dismissed him as a sparring partner with five losses. When asked face to face about shane mosely by Max kellerman (who by the way also knew that as long as floyd was allowed to have solo interviews would continue to recycle that lie from long ago) Kellerman put shane in his face and floyd did exactly what he says pacman did. According to floyd's own logic he did not want to fight shane because he never said it, he deferred the idea to his handlers...
But I'll try to stop this discussion here because we are both going to discuss a pointless topic as they are scheduled to fight on may 1...
