    Cory Spinks $1.2 + Million v Zab Judah $100.000 [2nd fight]

Some of the figures there are scary. Oscar, Sugar Ray, Iron Mike.... Wow.

I also know that Marvin Hagler only got paid $50 bucks for his 1st fight, Mike Tyson got paid $500 for his 1st fight.

And of course JMM turned down a 1 million+ payday to fight Chris John for $35,000 and get robbed in Indonesia. Never understood why.

From the top of my head, and they're pretty accurate.

Tyson 22 million vs. Spinks 13 million in '88.
Tyson 25 million vs. McNeely 1 million in comeback fight for Tyson.

Hell if some of these figures on John Ruiz are accurate the guy probably made more than $20 million+ in the ring in his career. John fukking Ruiz! But I can't hate, get your money Ruiz!

I got them from here. purse listings - The Cyber Boxing Zone Message Board

And here's something else I found about Tyson. Before Tyson was about to fight McNeely in his comeback fight, he got a signing bonus of $25 million just for signing deals with MGM and Showtime and as I've listed another $25 million to fight McNeely. So in actuality it can be said Tyson got $50 million just for fighting McNeely. That's pretty insane money.BOXING - BOXING - Tyson Appears to Take Control As He Takes Over Center Stage - NYTimes.com

And who can forget Oscar for making $53 million fighting Floyd. He got a 25 mil guarantee and then another 28 mil in PPVs. SI.com - The Fortunate 50

That list has been knocking around different forums for a few years, that's why there's no recent fights.

Hopkins got $3m against Winky ($2m) and Pavlik ($3m). Funny that Hopkins got more money fighting Eastman (obviously because he was taking a far bigger cut of the dough) and yet people wonder why certain fights don't get made

Yeah, ol' Zab got taken in negotiations but he stated this before and after the fight. He said he knew he would KO Spinks the next fight and then that is when his money would come.

That is what a real fighter does. He takes short money for a great opportunity.

I suppose that's motivation enough to knock someone out...

Don't know how much he made after this fight but I wonder if in retrospect, he feels that was the right decision..?
