Come on now this is simply not justifiable (if true)
Three judges from the same country is bad enough but THREE hometown judges and a hometown ref!!! What's the point in even fighting? Dirrell just has to stand up to win![]()

I agree it's wrong, it's fucked up, but it's not against the rules. In hindsight Showtime should have used title rules for the entire tourney as per their own contract. And yes Showtime is trying to keep viable fighters/fights for the future, they need to do everything they can because HBO runs this game.

You're doing this on purpose now!!!!!!![]()
All I can ask is that if there is a knockout in this fight either way that the conspiracy theories must be put to rest for a while.
Ward needs to make his fight with Green anyway and Abraham's next fight is in Britain versus Froch, right?
By the way, Fenster, in connection with the conspiracy theory, what "should" happen in the Froch v. Kessler fight?

As for the official rules of the tournament
Tournament Rules
1. All bouts will be contested under the unified rules of boxing;
2. All bouts scheduled for 12 rounds;
3. Both the World Boxing Council (WBC) and the World Boxing Association (WBA) titles will be on the line at the outset of tournament competition;
4. Each boxer will fight three bouts against different opponents in the Group Stage— round-robin, points-based competition;
5. Points will be awarded after each bout. Scoring is as follows:
Win — 2 points (with a 1-point KO/TKO bonus)
Draw — 1 point
6. Following the Group Stage, the top four point scorers qualify for the Semi-Finals with the bottom two eliminated (In the event of a tie on points, a tie-break mechanism is in place);
7. Semi-Finals will match the point leader against the fourth place fighter and the second versus the third in single-elimination bouts (In the event of a draw in the Semi-Final bouts, a tie-break mechanism is in place);
8. The winners of the Semi-Final bouts advance to the Final.

Unified Rules of Boxing
1. No three knockdown rule is in effect
2. Only the referee can stop the bout
3. If there is an accidental headbutt, it will go to the scorecards to determine the winner, if four rounds of a scheduled 12-rounder have been completed.
Otherwise, the bout will be declared no contest.
4. A fighter cannot be saved by the bell in any round including the final round.
5. A boxer that gets knocked down receives a mandatory eight count

That's easy to workout. A Froch win is more valuable.
Kessler is soiled goods. His next fight would be Green (means nothing to anyone but an ardent fan of either).
Froch-Abraham would be big in Germany - Huge gate and TV audience. And Froch's biggest fight in Engalnd (as long as Dirrell don't spark AA)![]()

Fenster, at least admit this: there can't be a conspiracy if there is a knockout in this fight and/or if Kessler sparks Froch. Are we agreed?
What's the end game? A Froch tournament win and a showdown with Calzaghe who comes out of retirement for the biggest fight in British history?

Bad judging aside in what ever country, boxing boards of control should be in place to stop things like this happening. The very nature of Judging should, in the interest of fairness, be unbiased. Dirrel IMO is gonna need all the judging help he can get if he fights like he did against froch anyhow.

While its true that it is ridiculous all judges are hometown i dunno if it will effect this fight like some others. I was always of the opinion Dirrell was onna be KO'd or would win by a close decision anyway. It may in fact bring Abraham out of his shell a bt more and make for a more interesting fight.
It is all setup for a potential robbery as many have said tho, and something like that could really hurt the Super Six after the Froch-Dirrell controversy and Taylors withdrawal.

I thought the rules of the super six stated that the judges had to be from neutral countries![]()
The first round fights all had judges from neutral countries and only the Ward-Kessler match had a hometown ref.

This is brilliant, vengeance for what Abraham's countrymen did to Dirrell last time. Next up on the get even score is Canada.
