The punch seemed fair enough, but I thought Jones was recovering at the time of the stoppage. He was covering up and just wanting to see the round out. Green was hitting gloves and arms with most of those shots and would have blown his load by the rounds end. But that's just my take and I'm sure many would disagree. Jones was caught early and hadn't fought at a higher weight in a good while, the power caught him by surprise and he simply wasn't quick enough to get out the way.

I'm kind of looking forward to the Hopkins fight this weekend and I am convinced that Jones Jr will put on a decent show.

I hope you're right but he looked like shit in training..he was constantly stepping on the rope, no rhythm on speed bag...very difficult to watch

Depends on who you ask. If you ask a fan of jones he got hit in the temple, if you ask a boxing fan he just straight got clocked to the dome. He's been hit in various places and went to sleep everytime, don't think it really matters much.

Looked like it was just behind the ear - but only because Jones put his head in that position.

As far as Danny Green goes it was a 100% legit punch but a slightly iffy stoppage, the ref didn't stop it because Green was subsequently hurting Jones but because he was throwing so many unanswered punches - he decided it was probable that Jones would get hurt because he wasn't showing that he was going to do anything to answer or effectively evade.

I still think that he should of let him ride it out, but it is a very understanable stoppage, not very easy to argue with.

It was around temple area imo, it wasn't a perfectly clean shot though. It look grazing to me.

At first i thought the stoppage was premature but Roy was all over the place even after getting knocked down, a couple of times you see his legs go funky, then the ref jumped in. Green was hitting mostly arms and gloves with the flurries he threw though.

Watching that Vid actually makes me feel sad, Roy should of retired long ago. He shouldn't be losing to the likes of Green.

I have a very uncomfortable feeling about this weekend, and won't be watching the fight.

Check out the video called 'Bad Wrap' on the front page of ESPN - Roy is fucking delusional.

I really hope Bernard carries him, I really do. I know there is a bit of friendship between the two (SecondsOut Boxing News - Thomas Hauser - Joe Calzaghe vs. Roy Jones Jr), so I'm really hoping nobody gets hurt...

Bernard Hopkins came into the room. Roy rose to greet him.

“Are you all right?” Hopkins asked.

    “Doing fine.”

    The two men hugged.

“It’s all about respect,” Roy said. “You got yours, man.”

    “You too, baby.”

    Bernard left.

In some cases i agree that it wouldn't of been stopped.

Jones was protecting himself but the ref stopped it because he was coming back with no shots of his own all the while his legs weren't under him.

I can't blame the ref on stopping it basically. I myself would of let Jones continue abit longer.

I think that it should have continued but that the knock down was very legit, I did look at it a few times and it looks good, the only thing making it not 100% clear is because Jones turns his head but it was a good one.

Your end comment is so true, considering that Danny Green. Got his ass handed to him but a poor man's version of RJJ aka Anthony Mundine.

Its just sad to see your hero's losing like that, RJJ was always a big inspiration to me, like Muhammad Ali was to people in the 70s.

    spot on

however much i try and sugar coat it RJJ was out on his feet and its pretty much at the refs discretion what he does from then on in. He gave him a chance and perhaps his argument was that jones just wasnt throwing anything back

Roy isn't one of my favourite fighters but damn do i have respect for him.

In his prime, he was amazing to watch. It's a shame to see him fall like he has over the past 6 years.

Luckily for me, Hopkins hasn't gone through anything like Roy has, Hopefully he retires before it gets to that stage for him.

For Bernard to carry him would be the worst thing he could do to Roy...It would give him a glimmer of hope that he still has something left....

I have seen Roy in many interviews and he still thinks he will once again be on top....I just hope that maybe Bernard can take away any hope he has in his heart so he does retire for good....I mean at least Hopkins is not a vicious KO puncher.....One day one of these young hard hitters will hurt him seriously if he goes on...

Any KO Roy has suffered have been pretty serious ones....The one in the Johnson fight is the type that has ended fighters careers for good

Hopkins hasn't look too impressive last time out.

Remember he lost to Danny Green at Cruiserweight and it was a shot to the temple that would hurt anyone. Ask Vernon Forrest.

I dunno if Roy is as bad as he seems, he took all those punches from Calzaghe and didn't falter, he is fighting Bernard at Super Middleweight I don't think bernard has that power that a cruiserweight green has, and Roy looked pretty good against lazy and seemed to be implementing a jab in the Green fight.

Call me crazy but I think he may use a strategy similar to what Jermain Taylor did against Bernard by keeping him on the end of a jab and trying to watch for a right hand.

Roy is like an old ali with his style nowadays, if Bernard is gonna play spoiler, I think Roy has a chance.
