Anyone else like Tarver as an announcer?

I was telling my wife that just the other day too. Hes a very good commentator and speaker. Lennox lewis makes me wanna turn the volume down to mute.

Tarver is an excellent commentator. I think he is the best right now. You can't even tell he took punches for a living. Not to mention the guy is actually intelligent and educated. As a fighter Tarver spoke too much too soon and made himself too easy to dislike. As a commentator the guy is the real deal.

excellent commentator, he genuinely ends up working with morons who have no idea how exactly to call a fight. As soon as tarver pipes up you know its gonna be relevant to the situation. HBO and inparticularly lennox lewis could learn a thing or two from tarver on how to call a fight

Hes top notch and carries self very fluid,easy going but makes good points.Totally at ease on camera but does get a bit over the top smiley with a odd stutter laugh.He blows Lewis out of the water.Lewis is stiff,talks in random broken sentences and when he gets excited during a fight his statements sound more like questions....love his spats with Kellerman though.

Yes Tarver is a very good commentator. He comes off as knowledgable, unbias and a nice guy.

Much different from when he was fighting.

Honestly I think Al Bernstein is the best commentator in boxing today.

Also Joe Tessitore does a good job tho he does get easily excited.

Tarver is really good behind the mic, I've listened to him on a couple of Showtime broadcasts and he's only going to get better.

Showtime has better announcers than HBO, and better fights.
