Take one look at the man and you'll understand.



He's like Zeus meets Steve McQueen meets Muhammad Ali meets Mufasa from Lion King.

I would say he's The People's Champ, but the fact is that I suspect all forms of plant & animal life root for, admire & love John Ruiz. This must be what it was like to be alive when Jesus was fighting.

I think Jaz Merkin just summed up a great deal. If you have never met John Ruiz, you won't know of this energy he has. If you have met him and you didn't feel it, you must suffer from alzheimer's.

John transcends every human barrier known to man. And he has been hard done by. In 2,000 years, they will talk of John Ruiz and look back at how real men, such as myself, modelled ourselves on John Ruiz, in a non-gay way.

I owe a lot to John Ruiz, boxing owes a lot to John Ruiz, and you owe it to yourself to let him into your heart, in a non-gay way.

John Ruiz is the only great man, who could be robbed like he was against Haye, and still have the class & transcending humility and other worldly qualities to still give credit to his opponent.

He's sadly thinking of retiring, no doubt to cure cancer, save the rainforest or single-handedly repair the hole in the ozone layer.

well i just seen the fight for first time on tv just

all i will say again is Ruiz has to be one of the toughest fighters I have ever seen - don't think I ever seen a heavyweight take such shots of a known big puncher and hang in there like that
