I mean I understand that this is there only way to make money really, but damn, when Roy Jones Jr vs Bernard Hopkins doesn't even get 100,000 buys? That should tell you that NOBODY CARES anymore. Roy Jones got some bad advice on the purse. I think he looked at his fight with Felix (another fight where fans were like "Why?") and thought that if that fight could do 500,000 then this one should at least do 500,000. The problem is that NOBODY wants to see Hopkins fight and RJJ just got knocked out in a round. Plus, just from the feeling I got from my friends, I felt a general disgust that this fight was even taking place. Honestly, I was almost offended that I would have to pay for this fight to watch. I didn't buy it because it wasn't gonna be showcase of two legends, it felt like a heist. If RJJ doesn't get paid at all for his fight, that's a mockery of boxing in general and a disgrace. These old heads are fucking ruining everything.

What's even sadder is that I can see the same happening to Floyd, Shane, Pacquiao, etc...

These guys (especially Floyd) spend money as if this is a career, as if they will be making this type of money for their life like they were a doctor or engineer or something like that. With their entourages, and houses, and cars, and lavish lifestyles, etc...I really hope these guys don't end up like Hopkins and Jones.
Doctors and engineers don't make the kind of money Jones and mayweather made.........
Doctors and engineers also don't SPEND the kind of money Jones and Mayweather made................
and doctors and engineers do not have the extremly limited window of opportunity where they can make that money. They ussually can make it for the rest of their lives.
