So beating John Ruiz (38 years old and coming off of wins vs Adnan Serin a controversial loss to Valuev and a win over Jameel McCline) is just as dominant as anything Wlad has done since beating Chris Byrd?
I don't know about you but I thought the win over Chagaev was pretty fucking huge. It was short notice, Wlad had to prepare for a southpaw when he had been preparing for a righty, and Wlad never lost even a SECOND of that fight.
All of you fans of the WBA title holder think it's boring and you think the opponents Wlad has fought don't come to win....well they do come to win but they get that beat out of them real quick like and YOUR BOY will be no different.....well he won't last as long as Chagaev that's for sure
Yes but Lyle. Chagaev had NO POWER or no speed, he won a close boring decision over Ruiz ffs. He is shite just like the rest of the shite Wlad has fought. I've said time and time again it's not his fault he is just in the worst ever HW division. I mean Chagaev hit ol' china chin full on after the bell and didn't even rock him so that proves he can't hit.
Haye has a speed, power, mobility and explosiveness that Wlad has never fought before. He got battered off the last person he fought with speed and power and he was only half as fast as Haye and didn't hit as hard either. It's ok saying how dominant he has been since Steward came in but about the best fighter he has fought was Sam Peter and he floored Wlad 3 times.
If he beats Haye fair and square then i'll hold my hand up and say yes he is the better man but he's gonna be facing things he hasn't faced before and the annoying thing is you won't accept that FACT. I know Wlad will be the biggest test Haye has fought and it's gonna take a good effort to topple him, but I think Haye will come through and unify this very stagnent and mostly boring division.
In regards to whether Wlad is "exciting" ...at times yes he can be hesitant like vs Rahman but other times his opponent can make it difficult for him to get the KO like Sultan and Chambers. But no matter the outcome Wlad is always impressive to me on account of the fact that Wlad has big time KO power but he is so well schooled as a boxer that if you took his power away he would still be VERY difficult to beat. I may also add that crappy fighters can be exciting and that excitement does not equal quality or greatness.
As per your comments rjjtszyu I don't doubt the skill of your fighter I just think the lack of respect from the general public that Wlad has received is appalling. You guys can bring up Purrity, Brewster, Sanders and Peter all you like but Wlad right now is a totally different league than ANYONE else in the division including Vitali. Its going to take time for people to realize how great Wlad is but eventually people will have to admit it. As talented as the WBA title holder is I just think the style matchup is all wrong for him, but on the off chance he wins I'll offer up respect and my humble apology for doubting him.
I figured my answer said it correctly that YES Wlad can be exciting and he can also be boring, it really depends on who he fights: vs Peter, Thompson, Brewster II YES, vs Sultan, Rahman NO...if the guy he's fighting has come to WIN instead of last the distance Wlad can cause for drama filled fights that are exciting.
Cool
I just wanted to know.
You know I don't hate on Wladimir. I just don't personally find him exciting, ever.
BUT I must confess that I haven't seen the 2nd Brewster fight or much of the Tony Thompson fight neither.
I'll make a point of watching at least one of em this weekend.
