Froch turns people off all on his own, hes the one that has made people think of Calzaghe comparisons by constantly bringing his name up and talking craap about him, even after turning down a fight with him

Now we have a decent comparison, all be it against a softer version of Kessler but hFroch still got taken care of comfortably. Froch would have alot more support if he had just let his fighting doing the talking instead of trying to brainwash people in to beleiving hes quick, powerfull and elusive

kessler took half the fight to get going and that is down to his confidence but this will boost that and he will have become a bit more sharper from it and I see him stopping Green which will make him a very hard fight for anyone.

I see Kessler having to fight Ward again, if he doesnt hesitate like he did last time and forces things more, lets the right hand go, then he can still win the whole thing. The last few rounds last night he was letting his hands go more, if hed started like that, Froch wouldnt have won a round.

Ward will handle Kessler every day of the week.

Also Carl fought Kess in Denmark but Joe got him at home so Im sure Carl will say if it was teh other way round Carl would have won and Joe would have lost

I look forward to hearing Joes statement. If he s a man though he will fight Carl himself instead of relying on Kessler to beat him .

Problem with that is, if Joe comes back and Froch beats him people will say he was fighting an inactive, old, washed up Calzaghe and would have never beaten the younger version. To some extent I agree (I don't think Froch beats a prime Calzaghe if they fought 10 times) but I think that fight is gone now and is best left as a "what might have been" rather than having it and then taking credibility away from Froch should he win (by no means am I saying he would either).

Yeah theres no way of knowing now and peoples opinions will be what they will be.

If Carl did fight Joe now though Id pick Carl. Joe was floored by Mitchel and Salem. He was also heavily floored by old men at the end of his career in Jones and Hopkins. Carl would have the power to hurt him but Calzaghe couldnt hurt Carl so Joe wouldnt take the risk

Calzaghe would barely loose a round to Froch, would make the Lacy fight look competitive.

I just hope Froch doesn't start coming out with excuses! It was a great fight and as someone said above, all the guys in the super six earn loads of respect for going into the tournament and risking their 0's.

I wrote a blog on this: Total-Boxing Blog Boxing Needs More Carl Frochs

As for the Froch-Calzaghe snorefest. I never used to like it when Carl called him out, but at the end of the day it is how fights are made and how people start talking about a fighter. Hatton called out Mayweather and got him, and Haye has been winding up the Klitschko's and they wanna teach him a lesson.

Calzaghe was always the better of the two, but Frochs power could have troubled Joe, who was knocked down by B-Hop and Roy Jones. But at least Froch has pretty much bettered Joe's record in terms of credible names, or at least he will have by the end of the super six.

I dont see how Frochs power is any better than Joes seeing as Joe had Kessler in big trouble with a body shot only to be pulled away by the ref and then the round end!

Froch is 33 and has reached a plateau as far as how good hes going to get, Kessler has been better but I think he will look better still in his next fight, he lacked sharpness and confidence, hes gained both in this fight and even though the Ward fight took the confidence away its helped with his sharpness and fitness, seeing as hed only had 4 rounds before that Ward match and before that fight hed been out for a year, so he wasnt sharp for Ward, whereas if they meet again he will be

have to wait for him to drag his nose out the powder and fanny first.

After last night's fight I too think Calzaghe would barely lose a round to Froch had he not retired when he did. However, let's be fair, if Joe came out of retirement now he'd struggle against any of the super 6 fighters. He's 38 now and he's obviously not done his body any good with the shit he's sniffing and the booze he's downing. He was clearly on the slide anyway. This was evident when he moved up to light heavy. Also his hands didn't help matters because his knockout power had pretty much gone by then.

If Joe stayed active throughtout 2009 he would've dragged out a points win against Froch. If he fought him say, 6 months down the line that would be a terrible decision to make. Froch has a cracking chin, can really bang and always goes the full 12 so despite getting his head boxed off I bet he'd land a significant punch at some stage. Joe should remain retired, he was a great boxer, didn't fight the best when it mattered but it'd be futile to try and change that now.

Can I also raise another grating issue.....I was listening to Steve Bunce (what a cock btw) & Richie Woodall on the radio 5 live commentary last night and they were making excuses for Froch saying he'd had 3 hard fights on the bounce now and this would effect his longevity going into the rest of the tournament. I'm sorry but it's because Froch keeps getting his head boxed off that he makes it hard for himself (Kessler, Taylor). There's a clear blue print in how to beat Kessler now (as proved by Ward and Calzaghe) but he didn't have the skill to do it. There's no way on earh you could say the Dirrel fight was hard cos all he did was get caught with jabs, didn't take any significant shots and just chased him around the ring for 12 rounds (that's good for keeping fit if anything, nothing detrimental to the body there!). Pascal is also similarly one dimensional to Froch so, again, it's his fault he got dragged into a war on that occasion. Watch Froch get beat by Abraham and the excuses really start coming our way about how he made the mistake of entering such a hard competition and that's the only reason he didn't remain undefeated. You don't hear Pacman, Cotto, Mosely, Barrera etc using the same excuses!

Froch never was and never will be in Calzaghe's league, so it would be wrong for people to regard him on that level.

He does deserve credit for his last run of fights though.

Pascal, Taylor, Dirrell, a loss to Kessler and getting knocked spark out by Abraham. Guy deserves respect.
