He'll quit ??!!! Lol !!! Take your overrated ass on then, don't even bother to stop and close the door on your way out. If the fight was in froch's own living room abraham would beat his ass anyway. I don't know about overseas but here in america nobody will miss him, most didn't even know he was in the tourny anyway. I'll quit...lol !!!! This guy is starting to sound like one of my kids....i'm sick i don't wanna fight, it's not where i want it i don't wanna fight. My car is scratched i don't wanna fight, I could've taken him out, i shoulda, coulda, woulda, whaaa whaaaaa. Give me a freakin break. You sure didn't mind taking advantage of a green direll in england in a fight most think he lost anyway. I'm growing tired of this guy already

AA brings the crowd and the money but Froch will get screwed in Germany.

Did you catch the last Showtime fight camp? Where his car was getting vandalized and he said it must be Calzaghe fans ha ha ha...I know he was kidding but it was actually funny...

Froch comes off as a tool on TV but IMO he is probably a decent guy the kind you would call to hang with watch football etc...I really don't think he is as arrogant as they make him out to be,...Though at press confrences I have been to with him he is a tool....But after the conference to talk with him he is a gentleman hard guy to figure out

Sounds like he's not taking defeat too well. He can't quit, he's got a contract with Showtime. If he does quit he'll have to pay them back what he made for his first two SS fights and possibly a bit more. And then what's going to happen? Bute isn't going to come to Nottingham even if they could make that fight (highly unlikely, don't think HBO want their boy fighting a SS reject) so Froch would be fighting away from home anyway. And if he couldn't fight Bute he'll have to fight some nontitle fights until the SS is over and he isn't getting any younger. Plus the post-bandwagon Froch crowd to see him fight B level guys like Bika isn't going to pay much and will make nothing from TV. So he's stuck with the SS.

The only ray of sunshine I heard was on Five Live in the car this afternoon, I just switched the radio on and somebody was saying something like "the word in Demark is that Sauerland will agree to a neutral venue to keep Froch in the tournament" but that was the end of the segment. Did anybody hear the full thing?

Sauerland have the financial muscle and they have the pull with Showtime compared to Fat Mick. They've got two guys in the tournament and a stable full of top prospects while FM has last legs Froch and nothing else. If they do go to a neutral venue it means some crappy American casino ballroom like Froch-Taylor. Compare that with 20 000 Germans at the O2 Berlin and no promoter is going to give that up so I just can't see a neutral venue when Showtime have Froch by the balls via his contract.

I was briefly liking Froch after Saturday, but thankfully he's reverted to being the giant knob he is. Thanks Carl. You prick.

I know. It annoys me how he's been willing to fight in other guys backyards. It annoys me how 3 of his last 4 fights have been Fight of the Year candidates. It annoys me how his last 4 opponents have been top quality. I wish he'd fuck off. Boxing doesn't need this.

I don't blame him. Why should it be in Germany?

They should prepare a neutral venue if both fighters can't agree on the location. Every fight has gone the home fighters way and Froch knows he's out if anything goes wrong. In Germany he will be docked points, especially if he tries to make it a rough fight. Anywhere borderline low and AA will be holding his belly and warnings will be dished out. Fighting there will be a risk for Froch and going on that iffy scorecard against Kessler (117-111) I don't blame Froch for fearing the worst.

I suppose Nottingham was a fair venue for Andre Dirrell, Carl Froch wasn't treated unfairly in Denmark at all. And i don't think those scorecards, were that wide personally.

That's why I suggested a neutral venue and will further add that it should perhaps involve judges and a referee both fighters feel comfortable with. I think Froch beat Dirrell myself, but I'm well aware that many disagree. Hometown fighters do seem to be getting away with things. Abraham knocked Dirrell down and got nothing. Ward fought using mainly his head as a battering ram and clinched non stop and again no penalty. The tournament has been very dodgy in some regards.

That's the thing, it's easy to blame Froch when the actual root of the problem lies with dodgy judging which shows a bias to the house fighter. It's gone on for too long. You can't blame a fighter for not wanting to work his arse off in a 10 week training camp knowing full well he's going to get screwed at the end.

I can't stand Froch but more I think about it it sould be in neutral location seeing as this is meant to be a fair tournament and all.

I agree that there should be a neutral venue..

but, i disagree that 117-111 is iffy, just because it was a fight with a lot of close rounds.. you give two of the close rounds that that judge gave Kessler, to Froch, you have a 115-113 fight.. Froch didn't do much the entire fight, besides landing an eye-catching shot maybe 3 times throughout the fight.. Kessler pushed the fight, and if there were no major blows in the round, or anyone getting hurt, then he will get the round because he's making the fight a fight.

Careful. Common sense is frowned upon in these parts.

Get a good ref like Weeks or Bayless, although Froch might still get screwed by the German judges, but then again who is he to complained after getting a gift in England against Dirrel?
