But, then you're buying that how they are in 24/7 is how they are as people. I've heard from a number of people who've met him that Hatton is very rarely the 'man of the people' that he portrays himself to be. Given how dull they were on 24/7, you'd have never guessed that Miguel Cotto was sexually harassing women & Calzaghe had half of Bogota up his nasal passage.

Fight Camp 360 appears to be very much about showing how the fighters really are, 24/7 is about presenting them how we want them to be. It basically operates as a almost WWE-like promotional tool. They're much more determined than Showtime are to create dynamics and good/bad guys.

I'm sure it's not completely how they are, but to an extent you would hope that you are seeing something real. Maybe everything is just propaganda, but I would hope not. I just don't know why you would want your own propaganda to be so awful. Like I say, I don't see how that carry on can win you any supporters.

I agree that the 360 programme is really well done. It makes you think you are seeing things in real time and it isn't all planned out.

I can tell you for a fact that it gets a lot of young fans, who like the trash talking that evolved from the old WWE & rap music. I think boxing, particularly how it is reported by the boxing media, definitely feeds into the wrestling ideals of goodies & baddies. Some guys are nice guys so they can get away with cheating (Mosley, Abraham etc), whilst others are set up to be bad guys so get no sympathy even when they do little wrong (Mayweather, Froch, Paulie etc)

I don't know about WWE nor rap so I have no idea if that's the kind of thing that they like. If that's what motivates them then I do think it is an inferior way of approaching things though. I will never relate to a person like Floyd with the way he carries on.

The media might create goodies and baddies, but Floyd does only set himself up as a bad guy. How can you support the guy? I think his stance on drug testing was correct, but on everthing else he loses me.

I think the issue with Floyd is more than simply the media being against him. It's the selective choosing of opponents and the endless trashtalk. Put together they make someone that a boxing fan finds hard to respect to the full.
