Calzaghe Returns!!!

I've heard a good sourse that Calzaghe is wanting and training to fight again.A sourse has been said that him a Robin Reid are fight each other again.Its been stated in the paper too!Mad!!WTF!!

Given the current landscape with Froch tied up, there are only two people I'd like to see Calzaghe fight: Chad Dawson and Lucian Bute. Lucian Bute v. Joe Calzaghe on HBO would be a big event. It's just the kind of fight Lucian Bute needs with the rest of the top guys tied up in the super six. And he does great business in Montreal. Plus HBO is high on him because of his last two performances destroying Andrade and Miranda.

No, it wouldn't, sadly. People aren't interested in 2 white guys duking it out. Remember Kessler-Calzaghe? It did nothing in the States.

Thats because neither fighter had spent anytime here....Neither man had an over abundance of fights even shown here during their career...It was bad marketing not lack of caring if they were white...

They are pale skinned but not sure if they are "white"? Does white just mean European? Spain and Portugal are in Europe and they are hispanic? but anyway what about Barrera and Morales? Marquez and Vasquez? In fact to counter the crappy race argument, name a fight as exciting as Morales v Barrera, marquez v Vasquez and Gatti v Ward with a non white fighter in?? All those fights had rematches because of their quality.

I it all revolves aroudn Andre Ward. Kessler has been exposed, Abraham has been exposed, Froch and Dirrel. But If Ward wins the Super 6 (As I think he will) then a fight with a 40 year old Calzaghe would be interesting

You think Calzaghe would come back to be nutted to death by a Jesus freak? Not gonna happen. I don't think Ward is as good as certain people are saying he is anyway. He does have a really hard head though.

Joe needs to stay retired. He's got nothing to prove. He's had a great career and he finished on a high. Even now I'm pretty confident he'd beat everyone in the super-six with the exception of Ward and maybe Dirrell and that's only because I still feel their untested. They both had good wins against Kessler and Abraham respectively but I don't doubt for one second that Joe would run rings around Abraham and he's already beaten Kessler, although not quite as convincingly as Wards head did.

The Kessler that fought Joe was a different Kessler. Though, I agree. Nobody has ever really been neck and neck in a fight with Joe for 6 rounds.
