How do you work out what your body fat percentage is? I really have no idea how that works....

I'm a lanky skinny, bugger with a devilish metabolism so I can't see my body fat ratio being that high, but would have no idea how to score it. I'm 6'3 and and weigh in at about 76-77kg/167-169lbs (not that I would ever weigh in mind!). Not a whole lot of lard I could trim. I don't have a six pack or anything though, so I'm sure there is something there, but not a whole heap.

No, that's not quite true, I just did a cm to inches conversion and I am actually 6'2. I am sorry for any damage caused by this misinformation. Particularly to Bruce Lee who has an idealised image of me. I may have broken his poor little heart.

Well according to the calculators I can find online you're definitely not overweight.

6 ft 2 and 169 lbs gives you a BMI of 21.6 which is ideal.

That would give you a rough estimate bodyfat percentage of around 6%.

I imagine if you can't see a six pack then like me you must be a low muscle guy and therefore would bump it up to over 10%

Like Ice said less than ten percent and if you had any muscle you'd have a six pack for sure.

I think you need to do some weight training like me, as it sounds like you're pretty much fat, skin and bone like myself

No, definitely not overweight. If anything a little bit too skinny. Certainly not very muscular.

Yeah, could defo use some weight training. My arms are very skinny. Might be a good idea to start doing a few situps every day too. I alway start exercise with good intentions but then I get lazy again. It's hard to stay focussed when it comes to health and I see why Ricky Hatton has all but given up on it in his quest for pleasure. I doubt I will ever end up like him though.

I'm getting really into my fitness again now. When I took it up seriously a few years ago I invested heavily in all top end fitness equipment, spent almost £4000 in all.

So now I'm actually using it all again it feels like all new toys. My bike is awesome, it's got video footage as you cycle and every time I use it I cycle through this lush forest track. It simulates going up and down hill, it's really very clever and means I can feel like I've been out of the house for a ride even though I'm actually just swapping one computer screen for another.

This is my bike here on youtube, it's very addictive.

That looks pretty cool. It would be good if you could rotate the camera and look around at the scenery while you cycle.

They should invent some kind of game so that you can exercise and play at the same time. You could cycle around picturesque English cities shooting people or something. It would get the kids off their rear ends.

They are already well ahead of you there Miles. There's this Taxc virtual reality trainer which I REALLY wanted to buy.

The trouble is it's a device you sit a real bike on and then connect it your pc and I didn't have a way of setting it all up. Obviously I can't put a bike in front of my pc it would be right in the way.

Plus I can't imagine sitting on a real bike is very comfortable for long periods. But it does it look really fucking cool. And on the computer animated courses you can indeed cycle wherever you want, and even go offroad.

I spent weeks agonising about whether to buy it or not, but had to decide not to as it would mean buying a second pc with a big monitor and I didn't have the space or want to spend that much money.

But a lot of exercise equipment is like that now.

I've also got a Concept 2 rower and that I plug that into my laptop now and again so I can use the Rowpro software which is pretty cool. The graphics are dated by today's standards but it's fun to actually row on a virtual lake against other rowers, either pace boats you create or real people live online.

    This is Rowpro,
    YouTube - 2k Concept2 Time Trial

It's pretty neat although I mostly row without it as I can never be bothered to set up my laptop and plug it into the rower.

I use it periodically when I download someone's time and then work to beat it.

A couple years ago there was this guy called Seth Trotz who was about 62 and clocked a time in the 5000 metres of 24:44 and I trained for a month to try and beat him.

It was an epic moment, I had him and two others in the race and with me almost blacking out I managed to accelerate away at the end and smashed his time by two whole seconds. I then fell on the floor and was unable to get up for about 10 minutes but it was an acomplishment I'll not forget.

I'm going to get back into training again to beat him again before the summer

Your probably skinny/fat then Miles, that means you don't weigh much. But your body fat percentage is high or higher than it should be for your weight. Or your not carrying much muscle.

Easiest way to cure this, is put on a bit of weight while doing weight training so basically bulking up. When you feel you've seen some good gains. Then do a cut thats what most people do mate.

Tone up medium weight with dumbbells ETC, do more cardio, eat healthly/dieting ETC.

Right now am probs over 10% easy, maybe like 11-12% I'd guess. I'm not far off in stature from you miles and as well weight, but probs 6-8 lbs heavier and an inch shorter.

I got no current 6 pack either. To be honest bout the 6 pack deal, that don't mean a lot. I've had it, but not cuz of how great of shape I was in, but because I had to cut weight, and water weight to make fights. At one point I was close to 5% bodyfat and I looked freakishly ripped. Did that to get to 154lbs a but more then a year ago for a provincial tournament. And it was easily the worst condition I'd ever been in, in regards to healthy for the sake of fighting.

If you're 6 ft 1 and say 175 lbs that would be 12.6% according to the most basic calculation. As a boxer you're clearly more muscular than me and Miles as well so I expect that would be accurate or maybe even a little high.

I'd love to have a 12% body fat, and be 6 ft 1 and 175 lbs, and fucking 14 again, you cunt
