I think Dela Hoya Mayweather was bigger as was Hatton v Mayweather in terms of talk excitement anticipation etc etc, I think the fact he is fighting a guy who is a great great fighter but is nearly 39 and has been beaten recently, I am looking forward to it loads.

I just dont no what to expect from Mosley to be honest, also the fact this is not the biggest fight out there for Floyd takes the gloss off a little. Not saying that is Mayweathers fault.

In terms of marquee names at 147 there have been these fights since Leonard v Hearns

    Curry v McCrory
    Chavez v Whitaker
    De La Hoya v Trinidad
De La Hoya v Mosley I

This fight is up there cos they are 2 names known to the casual fan

hopefully Mayweather v Pacquiao will be next

It's got to be Felix Trinidad vs. Oscar de la Hoya. Even though Oscar was born in East Los Angeles, he did have a duel citizenship so the Mexico/Puerto Rico thing came up.

The only one I can think of is Cotto vs Margarito which was a big fight but these guys don't have anything on Mayweather or Mosley for name value. (Cotto comes close)
its certainly up there with the best of them. its probably the biggest since ive been following boxing(definately from a personal stand point). but as ive learned of and seen, there were some big welter weight bouts before this since leanord hearns, but yeah its right up there.

Are you trying and failing miserably at trolling or do you have some sort of online asperger's syndrome going on?

Hopefully it won't disappoint, but too many of Floyd's recent fights have been quite dull. I'm relying on Mosley in that regard. Bring it Shane and close that mouth once and for all! Hurrah!
Which fights were dull? Its way more entertaining to watch a skilled fighter than two slow unskilled fighters punch eachother to oblivion.

I agree it wasn't like Hagler-Hearns or Pacquiao-Cotto, but his fights are generally more exciting than the average big fight.

Also going by PPV this fight could likely be among the biggest fights ever ,and I think the skill level of these two also makes it among the best welterweight match ups ever, but I still think Pacquiao-Mayweather is still considerably more important in every aspect, but this is far and away the second biggest, except for a Mosley-Pacquiao fight.

I was completely being honest. I remember throwing a big party in my motel room for Williams/Margarito. We cooked ribs...just good times with good fights mate. I looked forward to it for quite awhile and it was a good fight!
Props to Mick for really being the fan before the rest of us.

I never got anyone to come to my fight parties after Lyakovich/Briggs however.

I was also pretty damn pumped up for Vasquez/Marquez 2 and especially III. The only reason I wasn't pumped for the first one because I really didn't appreciate both fighters like I should have.

Personally, I don't need some "personal angle" to get pumped up for a fight. I also don't need to spend 50 to think I have seen a real fight.

I would much rather see the fighters previous fights, even pretty old ones than to watch him doing shit with his family or running down a road. (Watch Rocky if you want some of that shit). And it can backfire, because unless you have some charismatic fighters.....it sucks on both fronts. Joe Calzaghe anyone?

24/7 may appeal to the casual fan (or more importantly his wife?), but I may just be past that. I want to see footage of fights!

HOwever, any footage of the sport is for the greater good.

Nope. It's nowhere near the hype of De La Hoya-Trinidad and Leonard-Hearns made.
