Yeah, we thought Shane looked tired towards from about the middle to the end but conditioning has never been Shane's problem. He's fought at a much higher pace than round 2 for most rounds of most of his career.

I really think as Majesty said, he was shocked by the pace Floyd set - Kept the middle of the ring and had Mosley backing up for most of the fight. (When do you EVER see that happen?)

I do hope this isn't turning into another excuse for Floyd's performance. He just beat the best welterweight today with his eyes closed. I thought it was a little ugly and Floyd seems to be going a little bit more in the direction of Bernard Hopkins at points in his fights. Elbow, pushing opponents head down, leading with the head etc but he's much more fun to watch than B-Hop and his skills are unbelievable.

I think when we criticise fighters for their gameplan against fight Floyd, we can't imagine what it is like being in the ring with him. I was saying that to my friends. It is a catch 22.

Sure, you've hurt Floyd in round 2 so keep putting the pressure on him from then on, right? Oh, but then he counters you with a hurtful counter right so now you're scared to throw in case you leave yourself open. BUT you know you have to throw something otherwise Floyd is gonna out hustle you.

Everyone finds it so easy to say - "Well if Oscar used his jab he woulda won!" or "If Ricky kept his cool he woulda won!" or "if Shane kept throwing like in round 2 he woulda won".

Most of the time, Floyd is the reason those things aren't happening. I don't think he gets enough credit for that.

In a way, he does himself no favours by thoroughly outclassing opposition the way he does. I actually think people would respect him more if he won close 115-113's once in a while because he makes every world-class opponent he faces look like garbage with these wide scores.
That's normally true, but that's not what happended to Shane. Shane looked like RJJ v Calzaghe. He dropped him early but didn't have the body to continue. He was the epitome of "getting old overnight"...

I'll say so the floyd blindsiders won't have to defend it...

YES!!!! Floyd did a great job in winning the fight.

But it still doesn't change the fact that Shane looked his age from the first bell, and it wasn't because floyd was doing anything special....

I was really disappointed with the fight tbh, because after 3 rounds it was completely clear how the fight was going to go.

I thought Floyd Mayweather Jr had recovered late in the round, and he was coming back with shots of his own. You simply gotta give credit to Floyd Mayweather Jr for coming back and he has done in the past aswell. Just not many times because he hasn't had to.

i think if mosley wore cleto reyes gloves (puncher's gloves), his preferred brand of gloves then i think he could have scored a knockdown. team mayweather required mosley to wear the grant brand of gloves.

i think the main point missed in this round is Floyd's heart... he didn't run and came out in rd 3 stronger.

hell i think Floyd is a dick be the guy deserves massive credit for last night.... i really see rd 2 and 3 playing out again if he meets pac.

I now belive Pac will hurt him just the same if not better than shane and the fact Floyd can recover and hurt you back will make their fight a classic.

really hope it happens now moreso than ever

Great win for Floyd great job no bullshit about Shane too old, looked his age etc..

But I watched the fight 4 times now...2 things I noticed and will be called a nuthugger for but anyhow...

Floyd can not keep the pace Pacquiao can...Manny fights 1 speed fast and sometimes faster...He hits with bad intentions...His speed is better then Floyds....

    2. Floyd ever gets in trouble with Manny there is no time to recoup....

    3. Floyd started to show some of his age

One thing for sure: Moseley left a blue print about how to beat Mayweather and what not to do in order to keep your chances of winning it. I hope that Roach took notes and that Manny has the skills to follow the blueprint.

Miles while the 2nd round was great the 3rd round was probably just as revealing. If you watch the 3rd round again, you'll see Mayweather is psychologically 'playing' with Mosley. Goading him...

Mosley's jab to the body (which would of proved to be vital as a set up punch) disappeared after just two rounds and about 15 seconds. How did that happen? He got beat psychologically.

There was a point ( about 30 seconds in) were Mosley jabbed downsatirs in round three and Instead of just countering with a right over the top, Mayweather threw a 1-3(sidestepped) and a 2 for good measure.

Mosey didn't know what hit him. But he stopped jabbing downstairs with any conviction.

After that Mosley REALLY had to think about what to throw next and so Mayweather 'had him'. After this you can see the whole though process: Mayweather is showing Mosley that he is too slow and that in what ever way he pressed, Mayweather had a punch or two to answer with almost preemptively.

As a guy who used to throw big bombs on the heavybag myself I know full well if you're loading up on 1 shot at a time AND trying to pick a spot to throw the punch then you're burning serious energy and all that bouncing around Shane did was useless. I have never seen Floyd use that more orthodox defense that often...it looked as if the left hook to the body was wide open. Shane needed to set up the right hand but Floyd negated everything he did with speed and defense.

You do have to wonder what would have been the case had a younger fresher fighter with good power caught Floyd. I have to admit that given the way Pacquiao looked vs De la Hoya, Hatton, and Cotto and had he landed a flush punch on Floyd as opposed to Shane landing the punch then you have to wonder how Floyd would have taken it.

This was an awesome round had me shouting for a Shane KO! Pissed me off how Mayweather hung on to that arm so Shane could get it free i believe he could have dropped him had they not clinched but like you say Shane lost something in that round and it showed for the rest of the fight it just didnt seem right?!
