IMO Floyd is #1 p4p
Pacquiao is #2
IMO Floyd is #1 p4p
Pacquiao is #2
exactly my point, how can pac beat the #1 if he retired? pbf retired so pac bumped up one place up. now pbf vacated that spot so he is technically is not a boxer anymore.
now that he has come back he needs to beat the present #1 to regain his spot.
unless pac decides to quit boxing or dies.
I disagree,
What if they were in separate weight classes i.e. the two best boxers in the world, one was in heavy weight and one was in fly weight? They wouldn’t be able to fight each to decided whos p4p best. That’s why its called p4p and not 147 pound or whatever weight and that’s why there is not p4p belt to be won. its just an assessment of boxing skill, ability and performance. So technically If a person was p4p best when he left and still shows he is the most skilled and able boxer then they can take it right back unless of course you feel that someone else has improved to a level higher then that….So it’s kind of a iffy thing this p4p title but I personally feel floyd takes that spot back after his 2 return performances.
BTW a lot of people have welcomed me to this forum. Thank you, I find this forum very refreshing.
I found this place during the whole Mayweather/Pacquiao debacle. A few of the forums I tried were just ridiculous with nonsense rantings, but Saddo boxing had some level headed people speaking sensibly. So here I am. Thanks All.
these are weight class rankings, rarely until now to fighters on a p4p list ever face each other, hell that means that Calderon should have never been on the list cause he wouldn't of stood a chance with anyone that was listed on it at the time
you're falling into this whole concept that there is an actual p4p title which is ludicrous, p4p rankings are based on opinion, and well it's clear that most think Mayweather is the more skilled fighter of the two, meaning he doesn't even have to fight Pacquiao to be ranked p4p #1
Until they fight each other, they can't be split imo. They should share number 1
God is a concept, By which we can measure, Our pain, I'll say it again, God is a concept, By which we can measure, Our pain, I don't believe in magic, I don't believe in I-ching, I don't believe in bible, I don't believe in tarot, I don't believe in Hitler, I don't believe in Jesus, I don't believe in Kennedy, I don't believe in Buddha, I don't believe in mantra, I don't believe in Gita, I don't believe in yoga, I don't believe in kings, I don't believe in Elvis, I don't believe in Zimmerman, I don't believe in Beatles, I just believe in me!!
Donaire is rated WAY TOO high for having beaten only one big name. I think the whole forum is puzzled at why he's ranked there. But another fight with Darchiniyan, I think the winner will stay the same, but won't end as early.
Floyd retired. You can't hold the top spot when you're no longer active. Pac won the spot by default. Floyd came back and you can't automatically get your spot back. That's like the head coach of a team retiring, the team hires a new coach, then the former coach wants his job back a while later.
Floyd did beat Marquez and Mosley coming out of retirement but since then, Pacquiao beat Hatton, Cotto, and Clottey. I think the two fighters are going tit-for-tat so they will remain in the same rankings until they actually fight in my book.
I agree completely. I said before the Mosley fight that it didn't matter how dominant Mayweather was, Pacquiao has had the better run since Floyd retired and he absolutely deserves to remain in the #1 spot. Now, if Mayweather were to beat Martinez in his next fight, provided he doesn't fight Pacquiao, I might feel differently.
I nearly broke my fucken screen when I saw Pongsakleks name on there...
FUCK P4P RANKINGS!!!
FUCK PongsaShit!!!
But Pacquiao and Mayweather are not in separate weight classes and they are able to fight each other.
If Manny's opponents were horrible (like Donaire's opponents after Darchinyan), then I agree that Floyd can get back the P4P#1 position without fighting Manny. But given that both of them have an excellent resume in their last few fights (or overrated opponents depending on how you look at it), then in order to be THE MAN you have to beat THE MAN.
Since there is really a question as to who is the better of the two, it's up to the #2 to prove that he is better than #1 by going through him.
How is this Pongwalek...... in the top 10?? thats crazy
