once again, boxing is the theatre of the unexpected.![]()
is that the mexican anthem![]()
In some ways I agree with that, I mean in other sports, injury would just eliminate you with a defeat.
That said however boxing is not like other sports. Federer will play 50 + matches in a single season, Cintron likely won't have 50 fights in his entire career.
A loss in boxing is so much more significant than in any other sport and therefore I think a no contest is the right result.
I wonder if it will be overturned on appeal? Probably not if that is the rules, but I hope they at least order a rematch. Cintron was looking good in there I thought. Like most others on here, I think he was never going to get the close rounds because of the bad taste the Martinez result left in the mouths of many.
Nobody really won that fight, so I don't know what you are all bickering about. It's a shame it goes to the cards like that because both fighters had a gameplan for 12, it doesn't prove anything for either fighter in going to the cards like that. A NC would be fairer, but seeing as Williams is the man who was opening up in the fourth and was ready to continue, I have no issue with him getting the nod. The only round I thought CIntron won was the first, but I was eating my lunch and just building into the fight myself.
fit bird singing the USA anthem
Paul Williams did nothing in the first 3 rounds, and Kermit Cintron was constantly countering him. Paul Williams stepped it up in the last 20 seconds of the 3rd round, but he hit nothing except air.
In the 4th round he started out fast, and he got his head snapped back. By a hard right hand, and he was also clocked with some nice left hooks. Paul Williams would of got KTFO he wouldn't of been able to run, right through Kermit Cintron.
Sergio Martinez isn't a puncher, neither is Vernon Phillips, Winky Wright. Infact he's only met one puncher in his career Walter Dario Matthysse.
But he was mediocre and he didn't hit as hard as Kermit Cintron, im telling you now Paul Williams wouldn't of been able. To keep getting clocked trying to break down Kermit Cintron, there's a reason why he was so hesistant.
Cintron won every round, then fell out of the ring and got hurt and somehow lost a decision.
That was bullshit.![]()
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
Almost everyone in the chat room, all well-respected members of this forum, felt Cintron won. So do many people in this thread. I don't think it was a "pathetic display" either, Cintron looked good.
As for getting over it, the result doesn't really bother me aside from the fact that I think it should have been a NC. It's ridiculous to go to the cards that early IMO.
The sad thing is, somebody did win and loose that fight. The rules on how they went to the cards is a whole different issue. They had to have been doing something cause they weren't watching that fight, maybe they did judge it on what they though williams was going to do not the very little he really did do......sad
Hidden Content Click clack ! Give up the purse.........or yetti will find you.
Terrible fight. Cintron had a good game plan, it was working, but then he fell out of the ring, onto the table. Then from the table to the ground he supposedly REALLY hurt his neck and back.
Good night everyone. If you feel cheated out of a fight, just remember, those in attendance got dicked even worse...
