Magee was always a very hard puncher, I can't think of a fight where he didn't buzz someone, no disgrace in getting floored by him, but Hatton clearly outworked him - as I remember it. Although thought Magee could have won if he took more chances.
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.

Carnt remember what i scored it but i had Hatton winning comfortable.

it's weird because this fight is much closer than i originally thought and the Thaxton fight is less competitive than i originally though. it's just that Hatton's face was a mess that gave the impression that he'd been to hell and back, when in reality he'd pretty much boxed circles round him.

I was screaming for magee to win but Hatton won the fight fair and square. The general consensus from the boxing fraternity in Belfast was that Hatton won the fight alright BUT...magee had the beating of him that night, and due to Eamonns 'alternative lifestyle' shall we say, he was concerned more about pacing himself to get the 12 rounds in than fighting his own fight

Hatton won it by deciding to out box Magee on the outside and away from his big punches. Eamon could not adapt and was simply not good enough.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
