He is too old to take time off again and will back worse off from the lay off. Do not beleive it in any case.

Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Floyd isn't stupid. He only made that comment so people about it/him. Yet more publicity to sell the biggest fight of all time.
agreed
would be like 34 when he came back and for someone who relys on speed he`d be attempting career suicide by getting back into the mix
Should just have 2-3 more fights over the next 18months and at the end of 2011 he can call it a day and if he does manage to put pacquiao away could quite feasibly claim the title of greatest of all time
one dangerous horrible bloke
Right, I'm not so sure I buy it either. You can't just walk away from a huge fight and pretend nothing happened. "Oh, I just feel like taking a couple of years off. You know how it is. La di da". It's absurd and the backlash from the fans would be huge. Surely he knows that this is the fight that will define his career. No way he can walk away from it so easily.
It looks like he's had a come to Jesus moment. I think this will last until he blows all his money again which should be in the next 3-4 months.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
Doesn't everyone see this is a ploy? It makes the Pacquiao fight bigger if Manny takes the tests.
Because he can put the "this is my last fight" storyline added on to it.
No, I don't see it that way, Majesty. I don't see how this makes the fight bigger. I see it as a man saying he doesn't want to fight again for a couple of years and that's it. Misleading people doesn't make me want to see the fight any more, it just makes me think that Floyd is a bit of a dick.
People were saying the last negotiations were all hype and what happened? We got no fight. Saying you want to take time out is never a good sign. Hatton saying to Pac "let's just sign the contracts" is how you make a fight.
This makes it official. Floyd is scared of Manny. The bug on him about ducking fighters that can beat him will now stick with him forever. Manny took all of his excuses out of the equation and in turn, Floyd turned into a bitch. Floyd did great against who he faced, but he's running for the hills now. I called this a long time ago. Please look through my past comments. Floyd was never going to let this fight happen because he could get his ass kicked. Manny was going to submit to all drug test and Floyd ran out of excuses. Keep it going Manny.
Cry if he's here, cry if he's gone. Stop letting this guy play with boxing's mind. If they fight great ! If not screw em . Make these promoters have to work for a change instead of riding the nuts of a few guys in the sport to cash in on. There are tons of great fights out there to be made. Give us those

There's the warriors, the fighters, the boxers who just plod on... taking all comers, making exciting fights, keeping busy, talking with their fists and not their mouths. Take last night's fight, for instance. Cotto and Foreman are classy guys, as well as champion fighters. That's why people love them. They come to fight. The hell with the stories, with the publicity ploys, with the head games, etc.
And then............ there's Floyd. This fukking guy gets on my nerves every time a new story comes out. Hey, I never used to be a Floyd-hater. My intense dislike was reserved for class-less jerks, like the old Judah (I've softened my stance on him by now), James Toney, Prince Naseem, Macho Camacho, and a few others I can't think of right now.
But geeez... what a tiring and exhausting prima donna. He dangles fans at the end of his string, plays the public like a yo-yo, and is always calculating with who he fights and when. And what is most telling of all: UNLIKE the Cotto's and the Mosley's, his devoted fans have to be defending his image all the time. That alone should tell you something. Hey, he might very well be an ATG and a top p4p contender (in my mind, Manny is still # 1). But he becomes more and more of a liability to boxing each passing day. IMHO, of course.
Oh here we go again.Determined to give the deserved fans a case of blue balls when it comes to a much wanted match up.
You know, wont really matter to me if he walks and then lets the significant events pass him by.If thats what he wanst so be it.He needs to ride Mosley winning momentum and stop screwing around.Would like to spend more time on guys who actually want to fight...when is the next Cotto or Yuri Foreman fight btw![]()
I think people are taking too much from this. People say a lot of things especially people like Floyd who talk all time in front cameras. I don't buy this at all and I'm surprised that people keep falling for his jibberish. You can pull up so many recorded ridiculous rantings of Floyd to the point you can almost find what you want. No 33 year old in Floyd's position takes 2 years off just because. There's a better chance at him retiring altogether than leaving for 2 years at an advanced age. He'd be 35, reflexes would be downhill, and his speed would not be as needed. This would destroy the business of Floyd as THE boxer. No businessman would ever do this. Even if the negotiations with Pac fall through Floyd has $20+ million fights he can breeze through like Berto and Bradley. Floyd is just talking off the top of his head. Typical Floyd. Nothing more.
I cant see this being true. I think Floyd is playing mind games with Pacquiao and his team.
