Rather he wanted or not. Foreman had no choice but to fight on. He's fighting on HBO in new Yankee stadium against a fighter looking to win his 3rd title in a different weight class. Not only that but he's getting way more coverage than he really deserves cuz he's a Jew studying to be a rabbi. Factor that in with the fact that he can't punch for shiit and has already had 2 previous fights undeservedly go his way already. The boy had more cons than pros. Him quitting after going down without getting hit or slipping on a logo would of been pretty fucking bad for him. It would of made him a bigger laughing stock than Audley Harrison. And that's pretty big. The fact that he would need surgery wouldn't even matter. The damage would of already been done. I have no doubt Foreman was well aware what the outcome would be if he quit or fought on. The two options running through his head were quit and your a joke. No one will ever take you seriously. Or fight on till it gets stopped (fuck you Mercante I know was what he was thinking) and pray to whoever the hell prays to that Cotto don't hurt him. He did the smart thing rather he wanted to or not.
I say it's about the same amount of time you spend looking for stupid little insignificance comments you can blow up into something big, have a heart attack on, allow you to play your fake ass preacher role and proceed to preach to the forum how it's morally wrong that Mayweather has his own name on the sweater he's wearing. Such arrogance will have him and everybody who supports him headed straight to hell.
much respect for yuri foreman. this guy is an epitome of a warrior! wanting to continue even after tearing his ACL has got to take some big cohones. sadly, he'll be out for about a year or so due to the long rehabilitation process but i'm anxious to see him fight again.
Yeah OK...Please Mr Demise don't get me in a drive by...It is truly an honor you would even waste your time on a post by me while you are handling your biatches, planning your drug empire ruling the hard core streets.......
YES I AM A FAKE PREACHER AND I AM WARNING YOU YOUR HARD CORE LIFE WILL HAVE NOTHING BUT PAIN BROUGHT TO US ALL...HEED ME NOW!!!!!
OR whatever it is you can get done with a 10:30 curfew
I think Yuri has seen better days.![]()
Uhmm. I don't think so. Quitting because of an injury wouldn't have changed people's opinion of him. Consider yourself: in your mind he already had two fights against lesser opponents than Cotto undeservedly go his way. I doubt you'd think any less of him if against the best opponent by far of his career, the fight had to be stopped because of a knee injury. And people who liked him would consider his knee injury good reason to stop the fight.
Actually, he probably thought that his leg was hurt, but his head and body weren't hurt and he figured he could fight through the leg pain, but it proved insurmountable because it limited his movement too much.
Even if your opinion was 100% correct, he still fought through a leg injury in order to get knocked out by a punch. His other option could have been to quit like Golden Gay Boy Victor Ortiz or Kermit Cintron who by the way continue to get big fights. I can't imagine what your opinion of Ortiz was when he quit against Maidana. Wasn't this Foreman's first big fight on HBO? We need more boxers willing to go out on their shields. I don't know why you would put down that sort of attitude/courage.

Sort of saw that coming.Really crap news for him.Shame.With nothing but respect for Foreman he may have seen the peak in career that night with nagging persisting injury, pure boxing style and fact his comp for proposed future fights will be similiar now.In hindsight he fought like it in the end...quitting never entered his mind.
