James Kirkland could be back in the ring soon

He's going to be released to a halfway house in October, and would like to fight a few months after. Interesting to see how well he could do after being away from the sport for awhile.

IMO Kirkland is fucked, i never really rated him too high to begin with, and honestly i think guys like Cotto, Williams, Martinez, Cintron, and Dzinziruk beat him, hell i'd go far enough to say a fight between Kirkland and either Angulo or Martirosyan would be about 50/50

Wow you honestly think top p4p guys like Martinez, Cotto and Williams might beat him, and that he'd be 50/50 against the other top two prospects in the division.

You make it sound like the rest of the boxing world is touting him as a future all time great.

If you think he has a 50/50 chance against the likes of Angulo and Martiroysan he sounds pretty exciting to me.

i don't rate either Angulo or Martirosyan too highly, and there was a time where Kirkland was being labeled the next king of the 154 lb division, i always felt that even an old Vernon Forrest (R.I.P) would have badly beaten Kirkland, only thing he has that's special is his power, and even that doesn't equate to much seeing how he usually just throws one punch at a time
