I think Dirrell beats Ward. I prefer Ward and am not a big Dirrell fan, but Dirrell is one of those guys who has a talent for stinking out his opponent for a points win.

You know what? I really like Ward and appreciate Dirrell's skills but I have to say I thought the same thing when this fight ended. Dirrell's hands are just as fast and he hits well harder than Ward. I pull for Ward but I can see Dirrell winning as well.

I think it all depends on which direll shows up. This can wind up being a great action fight. Or an absolute bore fest with ward grabbing and direll running. For the record i have absolutly no problem with ward's holding. Everyone involved in this sport from fan to fighter knows what ward is going to do......so it's your job to stop him. If he can get away with that style for 12 rounds and his opponet nor the ref does anything about it than more power to him. Same with bradleys head, floyds forearm, and b hops everything. People spend way too much time crying about what they do instead of figuring out a way around it.

Yeah, I agree. Ward initiated a lot of the holding to smother Green but Green was so drained and flat that he obliged him and just held as well... If not initiating the hold himself. The ref did a good job at breaking only when they needed to be broken up and not disrupting Ward's game plan.

I agree as well with your thoughts on Dirrell/Ward. Dirrell hits pretty damn hard and the speed is compareable. I just don't know how it'll pan out as far as gameplans and tactics. I think there's more chance of it being a stinker than anything else but it's an intriquing match up none the less. This is going to be a HUGE gut check for Dirrell. His heart has been in question as has his focus... He's gonna need both at 100% against Ward or he will certainly lose.

He needs to know that he's the puncher in this fight and has to fight like that while being first. I think it'll be an interesting chess match if both men show up.(I know Ward will)

I haven't seen the fight yet, but from what I understand, Ward dominated Green. In regards to Dirrell/Ward, I would have though Fenster would have jumped at the chance to add to his conspiracy theory of the Super Six? Ward allows Dirrell to win so that two americans make it into the final four.

I know it was his excuse, and either way it is his fault, but did Green look weight drained or flat in a way that was out of character?

Did Ward ever put Green down? Or wobble him with a punch? Was the fight a fun watch? Or another boring Ward showing?

After the Ward/Green fight, people are saying Kessler beats Green easily. Why?

So here's the deal. Ward/Green was a clinchfest with Ward working well on the inside. Ward would walk Green into the ropes and work on the inside with his forehead against Green's chest. There was virtually NO hard shots landed in the fight. The ones that WERE landed were Ward's. It wasn't very fun to watch to be honest but appreciated Ward's ability to smother Green. Green was the flatest and most lackadaisical I've ever seen him. Ward was constantly first and Ward landed the harder punches which isn't saying much. Everytime they got close one initiated the clinch. Ward had some decent combos throughout but being that Green mounted virtually no offense it made it rather lack luster. If Ward could punch he would have had Green out of there late in the fight because Green was firing NOTHING back.

Green may fair slightly better against Kessler's stand up style but Mikkel can also punch a bit so that may negate whatever advantage the up right style and no head movement may have given. Green just does not belong in there with these guys. Hell, he looks like a shopworn vet... I think his diet and medical problems have alot to do with it which is something he refuses to admit... The man he replaced... Jermaine Taylor would KO Green. Simple as that.

Listen, I like Allan Green. I'm not ashamed. However, I'll admit that if he doesn't beat Kessler or put forward a good showing, his career, or whatever career he had, is done.

I wouldn't make too much of a loss to Ward at this point either. Ward is the same guy who made Kessler look lost and out of place. Kessler is a former world champion who also was the favorite of the tournament. And Ward stopped Kessler on cuts, right?
