Vernon Forrest was a legitimate opponent.
True! & he gave Mora a beating in the return! Mosley beats him worse imo
Not like it's much of an excuse because I picked Forrest to beat him in both fights, but by all accounts Mora was badly weight-drained in the second fight.
Right out of the Allan Green excuse book! But he took his beating like a man! I was impressed by that...

Well, I don't want to derail the thread, but I think Mora's argument is as legitimate as any other fighter's. He is a natural 160lb'er who enjoyed himself too much after the 1st fight and didn't have enough time to drop the weight. It was his fault, but I think the excuse has some legitimacy. I believe he weighed in heavy and had to lose a pound or two right before the fight as well. That being said, I picked Forrest to beat him in the rematch long before his weight was a known issue and I think he would have lost regardless.

Well at least he can use that excuse again, as Majesty pointed out with the fight at 154 he going to have to cut weight again...

Well, according to Mora, he just needs an appropriate amount of time to make 154 in a healthy way. I don't think it matters though, as long as Mosley isn't totally shot he beats Mora.

If it's true that Mora can make 154 if he lives a healthy life then It won't be a whitewash like the 2nd forrest fight. I knew he was gonna lose that fight as soon as he had to retry to make the weight. But if its at 154 I really can see him pulling an upset, Shane at 154 isn't as big a threat as he would be at 154 and Mora has a great chin and nice speed and a good jab. So I don't think Shane would dominate him especially going back up to 154. I dunno why people sleep on Mora though. He has skills to trouble a lot of people.

Mora is basically a poor mans Maragrito. He isnt as tough or strong and Shane Mosleys style is made for exploiting these type of fighters. Its a perfect comeback fight for him.

Sergio did something Shane couldnt do to Vernon but I ant see him doing it here. He will be hit hard and often by Mosley who although he is in declne is still a capable boxer. If he keeps coming Shane will take him out. If he protects himself I can see it lasting 12.
