Roach spends countless hours studying his fighters' opponents. He can sit all night and mircocheck frame-by-frame boxing tapes. He's expert on that. Roach said something like.. he's now more confident that Manny will beat Floyd because Floyd's footwork and reflex are no longer what they've used to be.

One thing I don't like about his coaching technic? Not so much on technic. But I don't like him allowing medias to film sparring sessions.

And that is so obviously not true based on Floyd's last two fights. IMO I think he is trying to make Floyd focus on moving and trying to outspeed Manny physically which wouldn't be a smart idea because they have similar speed, but Manny has greater volume and tenacity. He was there for Hopkins-Calzaghe, he should know what needs to be done to beat a tricky fighter like Floyd, and honestly I would do everything to bring in a guy like Ricky Hatton and force Manny to try and learn how to fight Ricky on the inside.

It's a bit disappointing he hasn't got any of his fighters to walk on water yet, or even found a way to do it himself. I'm thinking the latter is largely attributed to the Parkinson's tho.

One thing I don't like about his coaching technic is his inabilty to train more fighters.

The little Manny knew how to fight on the inside was enough to destroy Hatton. What could Hatton possibly teach Manny when his style of fighting is nothing like Floyd would swarm him with. Unless you wanted Hatton to try and emulate Mayweather's style.. which is silly.

And if Roach thinks Pacquiao would beat Floyd because his speed and reflexes aren't what they used to be, when he gets in there and realizes that his speed and reflexes don't have to be what they used to be to catch Pacquiao it makes about as much of a strategy of Gatti saying he'd fought faster fighters then Floyd and will win because of that.
