Amidst reports that a deal had been done for a Donaire-Darchinyan II match slated for the summer, Donaire said he arrived at the Top Rank Headquarters in Las Vegas earlier this week to sign and finalize the contract only to learn from Top Rank Vice President Todd duBoef that Darchinyan’s camp called off the bout.

"The fight is off because Darchinyan didn’t want to take the fight," Donaire said. "I came to Las Vegas to make sure the fight is on. I kept hearing the fight is on, the fight is on, then I don’t know what happened," he added.
"I thought (Darchinyan’s promoter) Gary (Shaw) and (Top Rank CEO) Bob (Arum) had agreed but then Todd explained to me that Darchinyan didn’t want the fight," he also said.
"It’s so frustrating because everyone knows how much I wanted this fight," added Donaire. "It’s like he slipped through my fingers."

that was my mistake. i just read from a few threads people mentioning it. but my point is donaire didn't avoid vic. even shaw himself doesn't believe that, so i don't see why you do.
