Theres weights, and theres weight. Been all routes I think, for me working with Rubber for ressitance beats weights everytime, better for dynamic movement in feel for joints and muscle. Variety is the plus for using it ideas never ending, can be applied to anything ,or any situation with a little bit of thought and creativity. Things havent got to look spectacular to be effective, Its doing something creative that is going to work, without injury. Thats the bottom line, getting fit not injured, injured people dont get fit, the nueromuscular system wont let you.

It all depends on your REALISTICAL goals and the ability to recover. If you are going to make additional STRENGHT training i dont see the problem to make it in the morning and than to hit the gym at afternoon. Youll have enough time to recover. But of cource you must make clear for your self what your goal is and keep in mind that you have limited recovery abilities! You must make the technique after the warm up(if you make it after the sparing/bag work you wont be able to concentrate and you will learn bad form too). And as Scrap says you must train with your head. If you dont feel it right back off.

I have forgoten... If you are going to make strenght training, make it specificaly for boxing. That means concentrate yourself on pull-ups, power cleans and maybe deadlift. You dont need big biceps, chest or legs. They will go very fast tired, your defence weaker and dont contribut too much to punching power. After all you must be able to rotate your self fast not to push hard!

A gym session can be done in full using weight ressistance. Every technique and all fundamentles can be practised. Theres techniques for speed, where you can reach Lactic Threshold in 20 seconds, where the guys that are doing them are supreme Athletes and strong.

Using ressistance methods, for strength, stamina, flexabilty, speed and skill. Practicing nueromuscular adaptions of movement. With the material that adapts to movement the same as muscle and joints, and can be used in any direction, with as much ressistance as to suite any particular movement. The field Im exploring at the moment is Prorecetive ideas with startling results, nothing better to do with my time, but loving it. Better still so are the lads, boring its not.

Didnt you have a thread explaining some of that Prorecetive stuff Scrap? If its the thread im thinking of everyone should check that out, its real good stuff. Also Scrap, when you say agym session can be done in full using weight ressistance does that relate to the resistance band you were talking about? If so im sure you could be creative and use other methods with other resistance. Im going to start using the resistance band, i did a little workout with it and it was awsome.
